This is the myopreicarditis data on children from the CDC. Literally posted less than a month ago. This is not just another vaccine for kids. It's actually pretty dangerous in comparison to other vaccines.

This study contradicts the OP's article and finds the exact opposite. Cases of myocarditis are higher from the virus than from the vaccine.

I just want to point out that the sample set used to draw all the conclusions in that paper was 276. The CDC slides only reported on about 1300 data points.

And from that they extrapolated the rate of CAEs into the larger population.

I'm not saying these observations are not cause for concern and further study, but the sample sets are VERY small. And it's know that this age group cohort is much less likely to get vaccinated - and the ones who are getting the vaccine are more likely to have (or think they have) pre-exiting conditions that make them "high-risk".

So, in addition to being very small, the data set is not randomized or controlled and is skewed to a specific cohort.

Just to clarify, the article I posted was not using VAERS data, it used health records from the TriNetX Research Network, aggregating electronic health records from 48 mostly large U.S. Healthcare Organizations (HCOs).

The 276 you mention is from the OP's article.

You are correct. My mistake - two very similar-looking articles with similar links. Looks like the data set for the article you posted was about 14,000.

They did conclude that the results suggest the risk of myocarditis from Covid infection itself exceeds the risk from vaccination "by a considerable margin" for 12-19 year old males and females.

No worries, my original post wasn't very clear. I've edited to make it more clear that what I posted contradicts the OP's article.

The OP's article doesn't even compare apples to apples. They're comparing their calculated myocarditis risk to the hospitalization risk. What they need to compare is the risk of myocarditis from the virus compared to the risk of myocarditis from the vaccine.

Good point. And to clarify, the study you posted included 14000 data points on kids who have had Covid-19 (not 14000 vaccinated kids). They looked at the rate of myocarditis in kids who were diagnosed with Covid and compared that to data reporting of myocarditis in vaccinated kids.

If you believe the data in the study posted on the OP, the rate of CAEs in vaccinated boys aged 12-17 ranges between 94-162 per million. That's out of a sample set of 276

According to the article posted by AggieHusker, the rate of myocarditis in boys aged 12-17 who have had a Covid infection is about 450 per million. That's out of a sample set of 14000

Also, the study in the OP estimated the rate of hospitalization for kids who contract Covid and have no comorbidities (including obesity and asthma) to be 44.4 per million. The rate for kids with at least one comorbidity who get Covid is 210.5 million.

That's a 4.7 fold increase in risk of hospitalization if a kid gets Covid and has comorbidities. THAT'S what everyone should be talking about!

But even the hospitalization data in the article in the OP is skewed.

If I understood that study correctly, they authors just estimated the rate of comorbidities to be 33%, which is in line with what's "observed" among the general population. They got the raw data on pediatric Covid hospitalizations and applied this assumption to it.

The reality is, probably way more than 33% of pediatric Covid hospitalizations have comorbidities. Because we know the virus disproportionately affects people with pre-existing conditions more severely.
