Is there a way to test if I've had natural COVID?

I've been Vaxxed since February but there have been a couple of instances where I've had symptoms similar to mild cases of COVID. Is there a test that differentiates between vaccine produced antibodies and those produced by an actual case?

If you are in Texas, you can enroll in the Texas Cares study https://texags.com/forums/84/topics/3208844 for free antibody testing.

The results will measure both natural infection antibodies and spike protein antibodies (from the vaccine).

If in Houston area, your blood is screened for antibodies when you donate to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Maybe find a donation center. There is usually a donation center or event closeby.

They are/were doing that with blood donations in B/CS too.

You can have zero antibodies and be immune.

T cell test is the way to go if it's been a while.

I'd start with the TX cares study mentioned above if in Texas.

Free, easy and quick.

I signed up online at lunch. Then later that afternoon drove over to test center, had the blood draw and was back home all within 15 minutes. Had my results the next morning, positive for spike protein antibodies (indicates vaccination or natural infection) and positive for N-protein antibodies (indicates natural infection). I am vaccinated and never really had Covid Symptoms beyond mild seasonal allergies (which Zyrtec cleared up, so I assume actually seasonal allergies).

So you had no idea that you were ever infected?

I did the TX-CARES study as well. Just got my detailed report back yesterday. Fully vaccinated with Moderna at the end of April.

Did you call and make an appointment? The 2 near me have websites but appointments for this procedure aren't an option.

For the Texas Cares study, no appointment is needed. Just go to a CPL lab near you. You'll need to show them your driver's license. If needed, the text message you are sent after you sign up for the study will have a Requisition ID number that you can give them if they can't find you in their system.

In East Tennessee, the Blood Banks no longer screen for Anti-Bodies. Ironically, after getting the OK to donate after my bought with Covid, I was tested on three successive occasions (I donate Platelets every four weeks). In each case it showed no Anti-bodies.

I just showed up, signed in and she walked me to the back.

I went to one in Houston off the Sam Houston tollway on the west side

Just got a text from TexasCares.

S-Test: Positive
N-Test: Negative

I'm guessing that means vax antibodies but no natural antibodies.

Full details aren't available on their site for me yet.
