Several coworkers tested positive and my rapid and PCR tests were both negative. Also negative for flu

I've had a sore throat, mucus congestion in throat and have felt weak with muscle soreness for 8 days now. No actual fever that I've noticed. Vaccination back in April.

Also been taking Tylenol and NyQuil to cope.

I've been taking Vitamin D, C, Zinc, and Quercetin for months.

Hoping I'm back to normal soon. Any advice?

This seems to be everywhere including my entire household and several of our kid's' friends. A whole bunch of negative Covid and strep tests but some crappy symptoms for two or three days.

Colds still exist.

Oh thank goodness for this confirmation. Delta is everywhere with similar symptoms but we'll stop testing now that I've been reliably informed that colds still exist.

Not sure your point, you said a whole bunch of negative covid and strep tests and sound like you're baffled by the sniffles.

Thanks everyone, so maybe just a cold. Never had one this bad or long, but could be.

Thanks again.

You were tested after your symptoms started, right? Not after your coworkers tested positive? Some people run to get tested as soon as they know a close contact was tested, but you'll typically be negative if you test too soon or before symptoms start.

That being said, a lot of viral stuff has been going around including rhinovirus, enterovirus, RSV, adenovirus, parainfluenza, the OG coronavirus, and I just saw the first influenza positive test. Could also be mono.

Thanks, got tested 4 days apart and about a week after symptoms.

Any of y'all try IV Drip therapy? Figured it couldn't hurt.

Around kids at all? Hand Foot & Mouth is a thing and it can be in adults without all the rashes.

2 kids under 4, both are ok so far. Wife is fine too. Bout to jump in the pool and hope to sweat it out!

Haven't stayed at a holiday inn express, but sometimes sitting around the house feeling sick seems to only add to it. Trying to move around and get some blood flowing and drinking lots of water. Hope it ends soon

My husband had really bad cold in early August. He said it was the worst cold he can remember ever having. Tested negative for covid. Oldest son had the same thing back in June.

We're in a similar boat, son brought it home from school. We all seemingly have the same symptoms but wife (her day 3 home test) and son (his day 3 pediatrician) are only two that have generated positive tests. Daughter tested negative twice (about day 5 home test and day 8 at pediatrician). I've tested negative three times (day 3 and 4 home tests and day five PCR test).

Daughter and son's symptoms were about three days before ours. I lost taste and smell for about 4hrs in the morning on my day 4 and ran a slight fever that afternoon. All of us continue to battle congestion.

Has your physician ruled out a sinus infection? You mention no fever that you've noticed, but one of my kiddos recently had a sinus infection with no real fever (< 100) but the other symptoms such as congestion, muscle aches, and general blah were there. She has mild allergies and when COVID was ruled out (also she's fully vaxxed), it turned out to be sinus infection caught early enough that the other indicators (yucky mucous) weren't bad yet. A round of antibiotics and she was 100% back to health.

I think with this novel virus, folks are paying extra attention to anything 'off' and thinking COVID, but as others have said there are still other illnesses out there doing their thing.

Anecdotal, but a sinus infection is one type of infection that seems to drag people down and can linger for awhile before it's caught. A simple test can be to bend over and touch your toes--if your head is suddenly filled with pain, it's not a 100% indicator, but I have to say in our family that is frequently a sign that we've got one.

Thanks for all the replys. I just can get over the fact that multiple coworkers tested positive days before my symptoms hit. Oh well, whatever it is it can't last forever, fingers crossed.

Son had a fever for three days; is now on day 5 of antibiotics; been drinking a lot of water; taking vitamins; been outside and running around but still sounds like he is trying to hack up a lung. Whatever virus he has; not covid; is doing its best to hang on.

My whole family had this. It hammered me for 2 solid weeks. Did not feel 100% until 3-4 weeks. It sucked. Not covid or flu but lingered on

My son was like this over the summer and ended up having RSV. The hacking held on for a while.
