Figured I'd add an anecdote to the board. I'll update as I progress.

I'm 33, male, 5'11" 170. No known health issues. Fully Vaxxed with Pfizer (in April-ish).

I visited my sister in law and 6 year old niece/nephew on the 22nd with my wife and two kids. Played in the pool and hung mainly outside.

Her kids got tested on 23rd. Positive result on 24th. I felt a sore throat on 25th. Meanwhile my daughter was sick with something (fever, fatigue, eye discharge). Turns out she had double ear infection and pink-eye, with a negative covid test on the 26th. Wife (with no symptoms) did a rapid test on 24th that was negative. And she got a PCR test on the 27th that was negative.

I did a rapid test on the 29th that was negative, but still had just a sore throat it would start around 9pm and stop about an hour after waking up. I figured ear infection (have had that before). Did a telehealth appt yesterday. They wanted to do a strep swab to rule it out. Did that, negative.

Then last night I got hit with congestion and sinus pressure which was new after over a week of sore throat. Then realized my IPA tasted like nothing. Dipping pretzels in Nutella was also tasteless outside of salt. Woke up today with a headache, congestion, and lots of sinus pressure behind eyes and under eyes. Tested with a few things and definitely don't have taste or smell. No sore throat though. Did a rapid test that immediately showed positive. At this point not sure if sore throat unrelated to covid or not?

My doc said she'd consider last night my "Day 1". Said no real treatments. They don't recommend ivermectin (and won't prescribe). I could do monoclonal antibodies but said more for high risk which I'm not. Said to treat symptoms and should be fine. If I feel chest pain, tightness, or have issues breathing let them know.

Worst part as of right now is not being able to go to the game this weekend. My 7 year old and I were so excited to go after not going to any last year; and for RWB out. Absolutely bummer. Broke my heart telling him we can't go.

Hope you heal quickly. Keep up with your oxygen levels. A few of us here went from a mild Covid case to staying in the hospital due to low oxygen levels. Sorry you and your son are missing the game tomorrow, we are as well. Prayers for you and the family.

Good tip! Thanks. I asked my wife to grab a pulse oximeter. I'm assuming anything from Walgreens or Walmart works right?

Find a doctor who treats early. I don't understand the docs who say there is no real treatment. Many doctors have been using real treatment with great success for over a year now.

OP here: So I did take Zinc (40mg) and an aspirin for the headache yesterday. Hung out outside in the sun for an hour or so. Took 10mg melatonin last night.

I ended up using push health to get an Ivermectin script, for matched with a doc and now just need to call CVS and make sure they'll fill it and have it.

I'm waking up feeling fine today. Slight sore throat. Slight headache. Still no taste/smell. Honestly if it weren't for the loss of taste and smell (and obviously COVID being front of everyone's minds) I wouldn't have really thought much about the symptoms so far. Hopefully it stays that way.

Sounds like you're already doing better so I hope that continues.

Everyone I know who was vaccinated but caught it (after lengthy exposure to an unvaccinated symptomatic case) had a very mild case. I know there are exceptions to that, but they seem rare. Hopefully you follow suit.

I sort of struggled with the ivermectin and other supplements deal. I just figure in the end it won't hurt me to take em. I'm not sure I fully believe they help. But I feel comfortable taking zinc, melatonin, aspirin, some vitamins, and widely used (human form) ivermectin.

I still think my primary defense is coming from just being young, healthy, and vaxxed. Everything else is just potential extra help with little to no downside.

These kind of posts are what I find funny. Can't just say every vaccinated person you know that caught it had a mild case. Nope, got to make sure to throw in something about unvaccinated and it being their fault.

Not quite as bad as the poster that only wants to socialize with people that make the same choice they do, but definitely on the same side of the crazy scale.

Sounds like my course of illness when I had it minus sore throat. I'm vaxxed with Pfizer as well. Taste and smell came back after about two weeks.

Exactly.

When I had Covid (also in my 30s and fully vaccinated) it was nothing for me.

Taste and smell are back now too. The amount of phone calls I got acting like I was dying was annoying.

I know pink-eye has been mentioned as a symptom. Has anyone with a breakthrough infection had pink-eye?
Have been having a little congestion, slight headache and this morning I wake up with pink-eye. Guess I'll try a home test and see what I get.

I wasn't blaming the unvaccinated, just stating my anecdotal experiences.

The unvaccinated love to state their experiences and extrapolate them to everything. "Ivermectin works" is nothing but anecdotal experiences.

I'm amused that the ivermectin unvaccinated want this guy with very mild symptoms to not take his doctor's advice and go get drugs that do nothing and take them immediately. It's funny, and sad, imho.

No. I wasn't playing anything. I was just thinking about my experiences and posted them. I actually was trying to be sympathetic to the OP. He'll be fine. He already has antibodies ready to go because he was vaccinated. He has a head start on the virus already. Also, I was pointing out to him that it isn't uncommon to get it from someone who is not vaccinated whom you have a lot of time with, so he shouldn't feel like that's unusual or unexpected.

The vaccine isn't a force field around us. This isn't Star Trek. Everyone who understands vaccines understands that. I was just hoping to make him feel better about his situation.

I don't know why it bothers you so much.

Ivermectin cost at CVS quoted at $97. For 30 count of 3mg pills. For a 6 a day, for 5 day treatment.

Seems high. Thought it was a "cheap and widely available" drug?

Well when prescriptions go from 3600ish per week to 90,000ish per week there might be a small supply squeeze. Which completely justifies any price increase

Once he gets better the ivermectin crowd will attribute it to that, not the fact hes a fully vaxxed healthy 30something year old. That's the most frustrating part of the HCQ then ivermectin kick from antivaxxers. Hell he had a 99% chance of doing just fine before the vaccine too given the demographic. Vaccine just made it 99.9%

Absolutely no motive for anyone to lie about ivermectin. It works. Thousands, maybe millions have benefitted already. I heard about it over a year ago. Tons of studies, vast majority show benefit from ivermectin. Thousands of doctors testifying to the efficacy of ivermectin against covid. Demand skyrocketing for ivermectin despite the liars at WHO and CDC warning against it.

Ivermectin works no matter if you choose to ignore it or downplay it. I will continue to take it prophylactically while I read all the stories of vaccinated people catching covid.

For those people, I recommend fighting covid using a regimen that includes ivermectin. Very safe, and it works.

I have no agenda other than I don't want people to die from covid.
