Wife didn't have ICU space for transplant recipient post surgery. Other hospitals in area same boat.

Finally got ICU to set up and care for patient IN the OR post surgery. With so little space, a lot of procedures are being cancelled and room could be set aside for a day.

Until they get another kidney.

I know it's heartless, but the unvaxxed are really causing a lot of unnecessary issues for hospitals.

Not sure why the OP is such a hot button issue. If ICU's were filled by the obese or cancer patients, etc, would it not be ok for them to complain about their life decisions? The fact remains that this is about as clear of an issue as it could be. The vaccine is highly effective and people choose fear in low likelihood outcomes that they don't understand. If I had a loved one pass right now I would be on an absolute crusade against anti vaxxers.

There are 4 groups.

Vaccinated

Unvaxxed with natural immunity

Unvaxxed, young and/or healthy

Unvaxxed, elderly and/or with comorbidities.

The only problem for hospitalizations is the last subset. It seems like the main problem right now is 40-60 year old men with standard dad bods that think they are healthy and covid is only affecting the elderly. The other 2 unvaxxed groups are not the problem.

I think Texas has now reached its peak for the current surge so things should be looking slightly better soon.

Remember, hospitals have all the room they need. It's just a staffing shortage.

By the way I don't really believe that but many on here do and yes I know it's a contributing factor but to think everyone just gave up their career is pretty funny to me.

It's sad how so many are somehow wrapped up in so many lies and delusions thinking they know the 'truth'

Future generations will refuse to believe so many people managed to convince themselves to take horse dewormer. I understand it sounds convince when so many people echo it, just sad it got to this point.
