Vaccine Reaction?

I'm supposed to get my second dose tomorrow, however I am nervous about the reaction that might come from it. I have a big work presentation on Friday that I can't miss.

I'm curious to see how y'alls reactions were and what I should expect? I am getting Moderna and had no reaction besides a little arm soreness to the first dose.

Trying to get a feel for how bad it's going to be and if I should delay it. Thanks!

Three days between vaccine and work presentstion seems like plenty. I was 34 when I got Moderna early this year and had zero issues with the side effects. Sore arm and mild chills that evening after the vaccine. Normal the next day. Others have had more side effects but they still seem to only last 48 hours max and most of the time less than 24.

Personally I had no reaction to either shot. I was maybe just tired by the end of the next day after my second shot. I fully intended to take time off after hearing about some other people's reactions, but I worked out and worked all day - no problem.

It's probably still a good idea to plan on being out the day after as that's when the fatigue and fever typically hit.

You should be good by Friday regardless though.

You'll be fine by Friday.

For my second Moderna, I developed minor fever symptoms (fatigue, chills, low-grade fever) about 10 hours post injection. The symptoms lasted for 8-10 hours (went to bed with a low fever, woke up feeling normal). Try to schedule the shot in the morning, so you can sleep through the symptoms. My wife had an identical experience as me with Moderna second dose. It's no big deal and shouldn't affect your presentation on Friday.

I was 33 when I got my first and 2nd dose of Moderna in February, now am 34.

First shot, didn't even have a sore arm.

2nd shot, received about 10am on a Saturday. Was told to avoid carbs... I didn't. Went to parents house to cook them dinner with my wife and kid. On the way back started feel "off".

Woke up Sunday with massive body aches and chills. Those subsided Sunday night. Little bit of groginess/brain fog at work Monday. That subsided by Tuesday morning.

I would avoid carbs night before and day of 2nd shot. Be prepared to not feel great day after, but each person reacts different. You should be good to go by Friday. Day after getting it could be iffy.

I have Moderna vaccine, I took Advil prior to getting second shot and 3-4 hours after shot. Had absolutely no side effects from it.

I wouldn't pre-dose with ibuprofen or acetaminophen. It can blunt immune response to vaccines. Manage symptoms if you need to, but blunting your immune system is somewhat counter-productive.

another moderna here. first shot was arm soreness on par with tetanus shot. second shot, got it Saturday evening. Woke up Sunday fine but started running a fever during 8 am church service (noticed the chills set in about half way through it). had mild fever, aches and chills for the day but was 100% fine by bed that night. also, 2 doses of Tylenol during the day more than managed the symptoms. while it wasn't fun, I would it compare it to the level of sick where you don't really want to deal with your daily responsibilities but could handle them just fine if absolutely necessary.

I was 47 when I got 2nd Moderna shot. Got it around 1pm on a friday...drove to Florida that night. Woke up and felt a little off but went on a 2 mile walk anyway...about 1/2 way through I started feeling like the flu with 99.9 temp. Took 2 Advil and about an hour later was on the beach feeling fine.

I had a terrible reaction to my second Moderna shot. I have never been so sick in my life. Was burning up, then throwing up, then freezing. Then the cycle started all over again. And horrendous headache. I was in bed for about 20 hours. Literally could not get out of bed and function.

Started about 10 hours after my shot. But 36 hours after the reaction started, I was fine.

I had a minor reaction to the first Moderna shot. Just felt a little like I was coming down with something and a sore shoulder. The second shot was a little more of the same except slightly more intense. None of it stopped me from working.

My reaction to the first dose was just like yours.

I got my 2nd dose at around 9a and felt perfectly normal until like 1a the next morning when I woke up with fever and chills. I slept in the next day and laid around.

I had a dull headache for a couple of days.

That's it.

If I had it to do over again I would've over hydrated with Pedialyte to see if that helped with the headache.

52 year old female friend - 2nd Moderna shot, "as sick as she's ever been", hospitalized. They ran multiple tests, could never figure out what was causing her so much pain - head and joints.

53 year old nurse practitioner friend. She told me a out ivermectin over a thread ago. She is very pro-vax but believes ivermectin also works. Sometime after receiving vaccine (not sure which one, which kind), she was at work and her heart rate started racing. She got a co-worker to check and they logged it at 187 beats per minute. This happened a second time, and I'm not sure what she did about it. She remains very pro-vax, and lectures me on getting the shot. No, thanks, I have ivermectin.

I know quite a few people who have gotten the Vax with no problems also. Not trying to stir any pots, just telling you what I've heard.

Don't delay it. My arm was sore after first Moderate vaccine for a number of days and expected to breeze through the second. About 10 hours after the second shot I woke up feeling poorly and by morning I had what felt like a terrible flu. Teeth chattering chills, fever, whole body aches but the worst was the headache. The good news is Advil managed it beautifully and within 24 hours of the second shot I felt fine again. Plan to be able to lay low for the day after and you'll be fine.

24 hours of discomfort after the first shot, straight flu like symptoms. only side effect after the second shot was I felt like I got punched in the arm for a day or so. Much better trade off than the first shot. For some reason my strong reaction was to the first and not the second like many other folks. But it didn't last anywhere near 3 days.

Any Pfizer 2nd dose reactions to share? Got my 2nd shot today at 2:00. Only reaction to first was a sore shoulder.

Second dose made me break into a cold sweat for about an hour, and my arm felt like I'd been punched. Slept well that night. That's about it.

My arm was sore within an hour after shot. It wasn't sore till the day after with the first one. So far no other problems. Hope it stays that way

Sore arm, a little more sore then the first shot.

Got it early morning. I did keep hydrated, I did keep up and moving, and I didn't take any afternoon naps. You want the vaccine to be able to move around through your body. The people that I know got their butts kicked with the vaccine got it and took a nap or got it late in the day and went to bed and they woke up feeling like crap.

Not me. I got the shot at 11 am. Came home, rode my horse, worked, fed horses and cleaned stalls. Was going about my normal, busy day afterwards. Ate dinner and then started to not feel so good. Went and did my regular barn routine right before bed. 2 hours later was as sick as I've ever been.

It's about 50/50 with people I know who got Moderna. Some had only a sore arm and some got really sick.

Moderna
#1 the most no nothing shot I have ever gotten

#2 I knew I was going to be sore because I'm not sure what the dude did, but it hurt when I got it. Got some minor chills about 8 hours later for maybe an hour. Snoozed until about 4 PM the next day. Woke up feeling fine with a sore arm. Took an Advil, by early Sunday morning felt perfectly fine.

I got my first Pfizer dose on Friday morning and was wondering about delaying the second dose. I know that the normal time would be 3 weeks but have been reading about delaying 6-8 weeks giving you the best protection. Has anyone else waited that long?

Second Moderna shot knocked me on my butt. Got it on Friday. I laid in bed all weekend. By Monday, the only lingering thing I had was a headache.

My daughter got sick on her second Pfizer dose. She got a fever and laid in bed all day. She was back to normal the next day.

I had soreness in my arm and fatigue for first Pfizer shot. 2nd shot gave me temporary numbness in my toes, but it subsided after a few weeks. Evidently this isn't terribly uncommon with influenza shots either.

I think the business about delaying the second dose was about getting one shot into more arms initially when it was hard to get a vaccine but not at all about better immunity or it would have been what was called for originally.
