Good. That's one way to ensure your football team is fully vax'd, too.

What's this have to do with masks?

It maybe the BAS talking but you damn well know the Aggiest thing that could happen this fall is A&M having to forfeit a game due to cases. The meltdown over at the zoo will be INSANE.

So what about hte students that merely wanted FDA approval to take a vaccine that they were hesitant about for whatever reason, against a disease similiar to their age range as the flu? Now that they have approval, they are going to get it, but you can't just get both doses right away? Are they kicked out of school until then? What if they decide to do what some Drs have been saying, wait 3 months for their 2nd shot as that might give the best protection? After all, no one has all the answers.

Do these now miss the entire semester?

What about those that still believe it's better to give this to a higher risk person in another country, considering we are still only at 24% fully vaccinated around the globe? A part of me wanted to wait for this reason alone.

I really don't get most of what is going on. It's all fear based, panic decisions right now. And this is coming from someone who got their vaccine months ago, but what we are doing isn't the way. It's a dangerous, slippery slope that we've never gone down before, at least not this quickly, for a respiratory illness.

We are over 85%, so there should be no issues with that.

Unfortunately unless at a 100% we may have issues. People that aren't vaccinated don't have to be tested unless in contact with a positive case. One of those non vaccinated guys tests positive in their daily testing and Bam contact tracing begins. I believe this is how it is supposed to work.

Students have until Oct 15th to get their 1st dose.

Students will then have until Nov 15th to get their 2nd dose.

Those windows allow for 3+ weeks between doses if they wait until the very last day to get it. If they get to it today, there are no issues.

If follows the same guidelines instituted for employees of the college and of the medical center here.

Current vax rate for everyone (students + staff) on campus is at 73%.

73%? That's awesome!

Maybe they can get to 80 with it being approved now

I'm pro vaccine. Against mandates though. Not constitutional imo. tOSU is a government entity. Private entity may be able to (though I don't agree with it). It'll be interesting to see if this ends up in a lawsuit. As there will be MANY schools doing this, it will most likely be fought and the issue will go to court.

A&M already requires certain vaccines. Although requirement was passed via legislative process I believe.

This very well may end up in that bracket, but I think you are correct. Leg has to pass it. For the record, I am merely speaking of mandates to attend events, etc. When it's put in the terms of regular vaccinations that are normally required, I have no issues with those. I do want there to be a bit of a longer testing period before the Covid vaccines end up in that bracket though. I really do not have any issue with the vaccine in terms of safety, it's still new and a lot of the mandates are so politically motivated vs logic and reason.
