Was in the kennel while we were out on vacation. He came home, and was noticeably ill. Very lethargic. Low grade fever.

Well, he's all spry now, and my whole family is sick. Pretty sure we have the Delta. Quarantining just in case. Could be RSV or something else, but we don't want to spread that either.

Oh, and the wife lost sense of taste and smell. Still not back yet.

I'm tired of being sick.

No way. A kennel is basically a hotel where everyone is on heartworm medication, impossible for covid to spread there.

Kennel cough has been going around like crazy, and this strain is not bordatella so lots of dogs are getting sick because of the increased use of daycare/boarding this summer.

This is true. Both dogs were in a kennel when we took the kid to NSC. Both came down with kennel cough. Both had to do steroids and antibiotics to get over it.

Seriously. We have had such great luck with our dogs in the past. Poor dogs were just miserable

Kind of curious about animal/human transmission. I saw an article recently that said a significant portion of white tailed deer tested had covid antibodies

Do you have a pulse oximeter that can measure your blood oxygen levels? I got mine from a local CVS/Walgreens.

I read some folks don't feel out of breath even if their blood oxygen is below 90. And its important to get oxygen once it goes below 90. Early intervention.

But it's tragic and unfortunate when someone who believes in face diapers gets infected.

There are confirmed animal carriers of covid 19. the "force the jab on everyone" crowd don't realize what that means

Might be something to that. When I go to my doctor, they require me to wear a mask and I can't bring my dog.

So if I eat the deer meat do I get the antibodies? Is it like a plasma infusion?

Sort of like the crowd that refers to it as "the jab" has no real grasp on data and science. Goes both ways.

Ugh. Is there something going around? I'm boarding my dog next weekend and I don't really look forward to getting a sick pup.

I doubt it. Was an anniversary trip, and the kids stayed with relatives. We got a little bungalo on a beach, and had very little interaction with other people.

All 4 of us came down with the virus 5 days after the trip. The dog was so sick, we were worried he was dying (he is pretty old).

Also, the trip was international, and I got a negative COVID PCR test the day I came back, as required by law.

So, highly unlikely.

FYI, USDA says that about 1/3rd of the white tail deer populations in the US have or have had COVID.

Oh, by the way, here is some more:

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/people-with-covid-often-infect-their-pets/

Apparently, pets get COVID from their owners "often".

You literally went on an international trip and are blaming your dog lmao

He literally got a negative test but you keep digging. Lol

Texas has more cases than most of the world but you just know he got it on a scary international trip. That's where covid happens.
