My smell is slowly coming back but now I have a question.

Can COVID cause a sinus infection? As my smell is returning I'm smelling something when I breathe normally. Typically when this happens it's a sinus infection. That fits with the congestion I still have.

So can COVID cause a sinus infection?

Y'all keep in mind the difference between smell and taste. You can only taste sour, bitter, sweet, salty, umami. The rest is smell.

So, potato chips are good to eat if you just lost your smell because they are salty and give a texture component. Soy sauce is also good.

Smell, try going into you spice cabinet twice a day and start smelling random spices. Try and keep a mental note on how they smell to you.

If feel for everyone on here that loses sense of smell and taste. It robs the everyday simple pleasures.

This was the worst part for me by far of the whole deal, took me a solid 4-5 months to really get all my taste back, even 7 months later I'll still find myself wondering if I'm missing some flavor when I'm eating something. This was really the only thing from the Kung flu that's really ever scared me. But seriously **** China. Luckily beer was one of the first things to come back only after a couple weeks or so.

How long did it take to come back? Lost mine this last weekend. I cook and bake as a hobby and it sucks not being able to enjoy the food I make.

Side note. My sense of smell isn't completely gone, just very diminished. I can taste the food I eat but it is just very bland no matter how much I season it.
I never lost my sense of smell but food tasted like **** for a while.

A week and a half so far. Taste has been completely back for a week now. Smell has slowly but surely been coming back. I'd say it's at 50% so far.

I smelled the burning smell for about 24 hours, and smell and taste are still muted ten days later.

Day 16. Smell is about 25 percent back and I have to really sniff inward to get a whiff/taste. Taste is about 25 percent back as well.

Lost smell completely overnight. Took about 6 weeks to mostly come back. Still not normal 6 months later.

Sense of taste was kind of off for a few weeks, but mostly normal.

I had Covid around Christmas. Never lost taste. Very mild case. Fever for about half a day with really no other symptoms other than that and loss of smell. 8 months later and I still can't really smell much of anything.

Almost 2 weeks now. Smell is mostly back. There are certain things I can smell easily and others are diminished. Fortunately, I am able to enjoy the food I eat and most of the smells that are diminished are unpleasant ones anyway (garbage, poop).

Started tasting food again today 6 days after I lost it. It was glorious.

My smell has been mostly KIA since February. Taste is muted, and some things I liked before are just blah now
