Are we really seeing people reinfected with COVID? I thought that once you got it you had natural antibodies and you couldn't get it again?

Immunity from prior infection is not 100%. Immunity is a spectrum and the whole immune system works differently from vaccination vs. prior infection and recovery.
Trends seem to point to far fewer cases of recurrent infection than breakthrough infections after vaccination, but I for one haven't seen any data that qualifies what that breakdown looks like, or what severity (or mildness) those who are actually reinfected experienced the first go around - e.g. maybe they had the sniffles from alpha and didn't develop a strong immune response.

I'll have to find the piece but what I've read (as of about a month ago) was that there were some reinfections but the numbers were tiny. Like fewer than 1000 nationwide reported. And all of them were in people who were severely immunosuppressed.
It does happen, but like vaccinated people the symptoms are milder than previous time.

Tell me when reinfection starts killing people in high numbers. Otherwise, it's just turning into a cold for everyone long term. Your body fights it off easy each time you are exposed.
No it doesn't. There is not a statistically significant number of reinfections for those with natural immunity. If your question is whether the absolute number of reinfections is 0, then maybe you have a point. But that's a silly question.
There have been reports of minor numbers of reinfections since probably middle of last year. First confirmed US reinfection case happened 12 months ago. Not sure why there is shock about this.
Friend of mine who had Covid last August and was vaccinated with Pfizer shot in April just tested positive Monday. Very minor symptoms so far. Low grade fever and slight congestion.
I've known a couple of people who tested positive twice (months apart). In both cases, though, they had no symptoms either the first time they tested positive or the second time, so it's possible one or both of the tests were false positives.
