Are they tracking how many people are going to the hospital now with the delta variant are unvaccinated AND didn't have Covid before?

No one has been talking about or tracking the recovered. No where I've seen, and this has been discussed a lot.
Imo there would be screaming headlines about reinfections if that were a thing.

I am starting to wonder if anyone catches this virus twice. What I think may be happening is people who are getting it now are getting it for the first time. They tested positive back in the fall or whenever, but those tests were garbage. I think a lot of people never caught covid in the first place but they think they're "recovered." The only way to track "recovered" cases is to test for antibodies, which costs money, meanwhile the vaccine is free. I may be completely wrong, but I really think we had a lot of folks with flu and severe sinus infections who were false positives.
Anyone who had sniffles over the last 18 months is likely to say they already had it.
In Texas the antibody testing is free, and 'free-er' than vaccines which are being paid by govt (our) $. The antibody testing (as I understand it, could be govt funded idk) is through a study of covid spread. For sure free for end users.Maroon Elephant said:

That doesn't mean, of course, that this is as widely known as the 'free' vaccination program.
What I'm saying is I can walk into CVS and get a vaccine for no cost to me out of pocket. The anti-body test is $27z

Unfortunately in the DFW area, Carter ended their antibody testing last month. Signing up for the antibody study!
That was my first attempt at free antibody testing. As much as I was willing to go through with it, my body said uh no (I have a fear of needles and it was reflected in my BP at the blood bank place). I found out about the antibody study soon after. Much less blood....and they didn't check my BP at the lab.Civil04 said:

That stinks. Gulf Coast is still doing the antibody test in College Station.
So is it fair to say we don't know if people getting really sick now got Covid before? And if we did know, and it came to be that prior Covid people who haven't gotten the vaccine are fairing well would not get widely reported in order to push vaccines?
I was wondering because it was reported that 50 of the 52 ICU patients in Louisiana, as of yesterday, were non-vaccinated. But how many of those 50 didnt already have Covid (the message was to get vaccinated of course)?

Natural reinfections stayed below 1% with emergence of Delta, while vaccine breakthrough infection spiked 10 fold. The CDC just stopped tracking breakthrough cases because it conflicts with narrative. No one is even calling them out.
Natural immunity is superior to vaccines. Delta solidified that. The only leaders to mention Natural immunity are Trump, DeSantis and Rand. Probably a big reason why the "experts" can't bring themselves to admit the obvious.

Correct, Carter stopped antibody testing June 30. It is my understanding that GC stopped on July 31. That might have changed but was my understanding last I spoke with my peers over there.
Now. We all may start again in some format again soon.
Some history: Orders for convalescent plasma decreased drastically in April/may. So much so that most banks were looking at having a surplus inventory through the end of the year.
This was part of the calculus to end testing, as it was an Unbudgeted expense to the tune of 100k/month. It didn't need to be done for the regular blood inventory and if we aren't collecting convalescent plasma, due to little or no demand, was a very expensive proposition going forward.
Where we are today is that orders the past 2-3 weeks have increased significantly, so much so that our surplus inventory is now looking to be deficient by end of month if current trends continue.
So we are currently meeting on how to best effectively reimplement testing and collections.
The problem we face is 2 in 10 donors is antibody positive, BUT in order to label it as CCP, it now has to be considered high titer, and only 40% of the 20% positive qualify. AND they can only be 6 months post symptoms and not have had the vaccine before illness. FDA rules... fun times.
More to come as we untangle all this
