I know what he OP is talking about. My teenager got it last summer and I got nothing.

Now, my wife and 8 year old have itwife vaxed, they're restless, coughing, etc. (gotta be the Delta). She's lost taste and smell. Me? I went for a 2 mile run this morning and feel great. Damnedest thing. We've all been in same bed last 3 days too, that's been the rough part for me. They're loud!

Everyone on the mend though.

I've known of couples that live together where one got it and the other didn't

And the one that didn't to this day doesn't have antibodies aka didn't get an asymptotic case without realizing it

So . It does appear that some people for whatever reason "can't get COVID" we just don't know why

Right ?
I still believe, and have for 16 months, that 20-40% of the population is naturally immune to COVID and will not get it when exposed.

Im in the same boat. Essential worker in massively crowded environment and my mom got it after we shared a car ride and my husband caught it and we had had obvious contact. I got tested so many times and never got it.

I did get the vaccine after all that though. I feel pretty safe.

The wife got the initial strain in December 2020. She was briefly exposed to someone who was positive for a few seconds and ended up becoming symptomatic around 3 days after initial exposure. Given the typical timeline of transmissibility, I was HEAVILY exposed to her in addition to my two young kids. None of us got it. All three were tested 1 day after she was confirmed positive and none of us had it. I even did an antibody test thinking I was one of the ones who was just asymptomatic and it came up negative. The tech that administered my test said he had seen numerous cases of one person in a close quartered household getting it and no other immediate family getting it regardless of any preventative measures taken by the group. At the same time he had seen cases where one person infects an entire household despite rigorous quarantine. It was like it was the most contagious virus, but at the same time not. Was very strange to experience.

My immune system is fairly average (39, no direct comorbidities, average health, usually get a head cold around 2-3 times per year) and was expecting to get Covid quickly after exposure, but didn't. Seems like a total crapshoot. Regardless, I got the shot.

Similar to OP here too. I rarely get sick. When I do it's bacterial and not viral. Don't get the flu shot and never get the flu. I fought off spinal meningitis as a toddler. Came very close to death according to my mom. Spent some time packed in ice, etc. I don't remember any of that. I don't know if that has anything at all to do with my immune system now. I'm 55, good health but a history of asthma.

I traveled and worked throughout the pandemic and didn't worry too much about it. I averaged a trip a month for the past year+. A few weeks ago I was working in Washington DC and started feeling like crap. A lot of covid symptoms. I got my work done and got the hell out of there. Took a covid test when I got home and was negative.

It actually happened to my neighbor who is about my age. Luckily he was driving and not flying. He got sick in NM and drove himself home where covid proceeded to kick is azz for about a week and a half.

I went ahead and got the Pfizer vaccine. I wasn't really scared of covid so much as I was afraid of getting covid while traveling and getting stuck somewhere.

I'm 47 and wife is 45 and we haven't had it yet. We've both had two antibody tests while getting our 2020 and 2021 annual physicals. Both negative. A+ blood type but have no idea if that is relevant.

I do expect to get it though. It's just a matter of when. As time goes on my willingness to get the vaccine increases as I approach higher risk population segments.

You clearly have not been exposed yet, you are not superman. I would strongly encourage you to get the vaccine. You can set up an appointment online with Walgreens or CVS to get it. It's simple, it's free, and there is no reason not to.
You cannot say that with any certainty.

My doctor told me the anti-body tests are not accurate at all and does not recommend them. He's had several Covid patients get negative anti-body tests within months of testing positive.

I personally have been exposed multiple time, including kissing my wife good bye for work and later that day she suddenly felt sick and it was covid.

And there are lots of reasons to not get vaccinated.

I actually can say that with relative certainty. The lack of prior COVID symptoms, no home COVID contacts, and negative antibody testing means his post-test probability for ever having his immune system exposed to COVID is very low. The antibody testing, while not perfect, are very sensitive and specific as long as the test is not performed during an active infection.

And there are very few reasons to not get the vaccine, and those reasons are isolated to <1% of the adult population.

What happened to the asymptomatic population? I went on a cruise March 2019 and haven't stopped working in an office setting since. No covid symptoms and haven't adjusted my lifestyle.
