Well, I just found out that I am required to get the vaccine for work. I'm considering Moderna or Pfizer. Is one better than other with side effects, reaction, strength against variants. Thanks!

I took Moderna. My daughter got the Pfizer vaccine. We both had the same type of reaction.

I got Moderna, wife got Pfizer. No real difference
Moderna seems to get less press, either positive or negative

My personal preference was Moderna.

JNJ can't even make baby powder or sunscreen right.

With Pfizer you can get the second shot one week earlier than with Moderna

Moderna here. Either mRNA are fine.

99% of TexAgs "Alpha" posters will tell you to quit your job but I say go with the Pfizer. I personally have heard zero horror stories on any of the Vaccines and I work in medicine. Thank you for doing your part.

I 100% get there is a chance of termination / moral / ethical issue here....but....an honest question b/c I just dont know....

In this scenario could one print off a CDC card and darn near replicate it to look like you got it and submit it?

When you get the shot, they just write it on the card, right? They don't enter it into a database....or do they?

Edit: no way advocating. i wouldnt do this. i am just curious b/c I am sure some people will try...

They do enter it into a database. Not sure a private company would have access to that though. The government definitely does and has used it.

It is very easy to fake the card if one desired.

Ok. Good to know. If the government knows and they mandate they will 100% share that info, IMO.

I just was not sure especially with the drive through if they were bothering with typing information in a system or if they were mainly writing it on your card and just tracking numbers of shots vs specific people.

Obviously makes sense they are tracking....

If you're only getting it because you're forced to, why wouldn't you get the one shot J&J?

Pot-A-to Po-Tah-to . . . . I received Pfizer and my wife received Moderna as we could not scheduled at the same CVS.

Neither of us had reactions on round one. We both had side effects on round two and her's were slightly more serious but we both were through it after a decent night's sleep.

Completely anecdotal, but I've asked a lot of people how they've been. It seems Moderna is a little worse on the 2nd shot, especially for those in the 30-50 age range. I don't know anyone that was knocked out good on Pfizer, I know a few that did with Moderna.

Have you been infected yet? If so, just show them your antibody results with the vaccine induced protein, plus natural antibody protein. Every month new studies are showing natural immunity has increased durability to virus and variants.

I think it's funny that so many "experts" say people have different natural immune responses to virus, but when it comes to the vaccine immune response, that logic no longer applies. The fact is, on avg natural immunity outperforms vaccine. It should be accepted ABOVE the shorter lasting vaccine by employers

They really had to sell the mRNA vaccines and without the government it wasn't going anywhere. Novavax is just as effective and is easier to distribute.

I would go with Moderna based on Pfizer showing decreased efficacy @ 6 months according to this report 3 hours ago.

I was the opposite. First shot knocked me on my ass for 48 hours, the second gave me a 12 hour mild fever, but that was it.

My family's experience - I got Pfizer with no side effects. Wife got Moderna and felt like she was hungover the day after both.

We just took a week long trip as a family never being apart aside from bathroom breaks. The day after we got home my daughter (8) and I both had dry cough. Both ended up sick with positive COVID tests. Negative and obviously no symptoms for my wife and 10 year old son. If I had a choice now, I'd pick Moderna personally. May not have made any difference but just from our tiny sample size that's what I would chose.

Agree here too. If you are just checking a box, why not go with one jab over two?

I'd get moderna.

My wife and I are both fully vaccinated with moderna and were around a symptomatic friend at our house. ( bbq and was about 5 hrs)

Neither of us had any symptoms.

I can also confirm that moderna will knock you on your butt

Bigger ethical issue is forcing someone to take a non fda approved medication in order to work.

There is a database somewhere. My primary care doctor knew I got my first shot, but not my second (there were issues with me in HEB's system for the second shot so that doesn't surprise me). Insurance was billed for both shots. Some database somewhere knows I was vaccinated, just depends who can access it.
