Just to be clear, was she lying or exaggerating? Was it the way she went about it? Not a spokesman?

She's taking severe heat about it, but for which reason?
I can see plenty of reasons. Most organizations don't like employees to talk to media outlets without prior approval and vetting.

I can't imagine that a hospital wants the private details of patient communication or discussions with family tossed out to media outlets.

Whatever her intentions were, it was not smart on her part.

And as an aside, there is a family we know and the father was extremely anti-vaxx. He just got put on the ventilator and his wife is in ICU but recovering. One data-point for sure but it is frustrating how people keep ignoring the incredibly severe consequences of these low-probability events.

That is my hospital. She is a hospitalist there. She is taking severe heat from hospital admin. And has received death threats from strangers.

I definitely think there is hyperbole in her comments. I'm sure a few pts said those type things, but she generalizes it. I think that is a big part of it. The hospital has taken heat as well. She was told to stop doing interviews. She is not a hospital employee and told them she has every right to say whatever. I haven't seen her in a couple of weeks - not sure what's going on. She is a good doc but she is young and a bit on the immature side. Facebook not the place for that.

If these patients are still able to speak and "beg" for her to give them the shot then why is she putting them on the vent? I'm not a doctor, but seems a bit premature to me to put someone on the vent if they still have the lung capacity to beg their doctor for a vaccine
You would be surprised at how a COVID patient needing intubation appears. They'll be conversing as if everything is normal and not look to be in distress, but they're on a huge oxygen requirement with low oxygen levels. It's really kinda freaky, as most patients with other diseases in that scenario are struggling and appear it.

But, sure enough, their oxygen levels really are low despite aggressive interventions.

There is a litmus test to identify politically motivated on each side.

Right
Do masks limit covid air particulates?

Left
Should naturally immune people get a vaccine?

Correct answers are Yes and No. Anyone who answers differently is almost certainly politically motivated.
