If you are comfortable with slack, there is a big old network of bots that will tell when appointments open at various providers across the state.

The vaccine now seems to be generally available to anyone.

Sure, if you lie on the registration page
I know one individual who has received both shots who put down his reason for being 1B as "sleep apnea".

I know many who have BMIs bouncing around between 25 and 30 who just rounded up who have received both shots.

I am not defending - I am just saying the general public's opinion is that it's almost March and John Q. Public is chomping at the bit to get the vaccine - and they're going out and getting it.

Since I had covid in May with minimal issues and possibly again in October with minimal issues, I'm not that worried about myself and so I prefer to hold back and let those who haven't had it can get vaccinated, particularly if they have comorbidities. Once they are catching up and there is plenty to go along, I'll be sure to be vaccinated. Even after that, I'll still be careful when around the elderly.

It looks like CVS updates their appointments on Saturday morning. Most of the appointments are not in the big cities but around the cities. My sister-in-law in Dallas is going to Mesquite to get hers.

I'm going to Denison to get mine.

It seems like Midland, Amarillo, Odessa, and Lubbock always have openings.

If I was a senior and had a CVS offering shots, I would call them up. Maybe they could set up an appointment when they get a shipment.

It is very hard for seniors who aren't computer savvy to get an appointment.

CVS Vaccine Availability

Click the link above. Choose Texas from the list. Then a pop-up will appear with a list of cities with availability. As mentioned above, these aren't the major metro areas, but you can make appointments in more rural areas.

We have friends who drove from Wisconsin for an appointment in Texarkana today.

Pretty robust openings within 60-90 min of Houston (depending on location) as of yesterday
