Looks like my 87 year old dad was exposed. If so, I expect symptoms to develop later today or tomorrow. He's not in good health. We have most of the supplement from Dr. Rev. I want to treat this VERY aggressively the second we suspect he has it.

is there a prescription we should ask for?
is there a better doctor or hospital in B/CS to take him to?

any advice on helping us get ready is greatly appreciated.

He and my 79 year old mom still at home. Rest of us are out of town.

** Update** he got the 1st dose of the Moderna vaccine on Wednesday. Surely that would help a little.

You can start him on dr revs cocktail and Ivermectin, you can get it at tractor supply or a store like that. It is normally for livestock but has shown good results.

If he does get it ask for Remdisivir from the doctors right away. If doctor won't prescribe then maybe find one that will.

Prayers for him.
In talking with sources connected to Meyer's family on Sunday, there was laughter about the persistence of the Texas pursuit.

Get him the monoclonal antibody infusion.

Any idea about drug interactions? He takes meds for high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, a blood thinner, etc.

I'm wondering if we could get a telemed call and get the ivermectin prescribed. I know they would prefer that much more than me going to the tractor supply.

Where does your dad live?

If in TX Dr. Rev's practice will do it via telehealth.

I'd get the ivermectin on board ASAP even if it's the tractor supply version. (I'm NOT a doctor, just proactive.)

While you are waiting for him to develop symptoms that could actually also be side effects from his vaccine you could try one of these sources to get ivermectin. I have no idea if it is a bad idea for someone who just got the vaccine.

If you want something today since time is of the essence with Covid I think MyFreeDoctor has people on call. You have to download a medical app.

The problem here is his vaccine so be sure to point out that he just had it.

I am under the impression the Cap Rock urgeany care Near the NEW HEB is being proactive about off label Rx which is what the Ivermectin Rx is

It is definitely hard to be certain who will and will not write the off label scrip

My 89 year old, obese, diabetic grandmother tested positive for Covid the day after Thanksgiving.
That Monday she got an infusion of monoclonal antibodies, and made a quick and complete recovery. It was pretty shocking actually.

I'd be pursuing something like that, more so than an unproven, somewhat anecdotal treatment like ivermectin. Or do both.

I thought the antibody treatments were super expensive? Rather than the low cost of the worm medicine.

I was diagnosed on January 30th. I was given the antibody treatment last Tuesday morning and have not experienced any major issues. I had the burning nostril issue for 2 days, but that has gone away. I have some ongoing minor headaches and minor asthma issues.

My wife tested positive last Thursday and has struggled with headaches, nausea, sinus issues, etc. I would say she is in slightly better condition today, but she is definitely not feeling well.

I have to say the antibody treatment does wonders and I am very thankful for it.

As of today - neither my mom nor dad has developed symptoms. Thank you all for your ideas.

I am a fan of the ivermectin but another family member is not. That most likely got it off the table. We are all fans of the infusion.

Recommending an elderly patient, exposed to a severe illness and recommending they purchase an off label application of a medicine designed for use in cattle/pigs/sheep is pretty insane for Texags to continue to allow.

The same board that called HCQ a terrible treatment issued by medical professionals.
