I tested positive Saturday on a PCR test required for travel for work. Really shocked as I have no symptoms and had to cancel my flight on Sunday. Decided to follow up and tested negative on both Monday Tuesday morning (today).

What gives?

We've had a few discussions on this forum, some are gone now, about 'false positives with PCR.' PCR is great technology, but depending on how it is run/cycles it can result in 'false positives.'

It is a concern frankly that so many are being diagnosed with this method today. I've read that in some hospitals in the UK as many as 35 percent of staff are out on quarantine as they will...eternally test positive via the PCR tests administered there. It adds to the problem, rather than solving it, when run and interpreted incorrectly.

I have a lady who works at my courts who's husband tested positive on the 24 Dec. and wife tested negative. Tested again today, husband still positive and wife still negative.

First time since this has been going on where I've had a "resides with" a positive not become positive at the 14 day mark or sooner. Only answer I have is she has antibodies from previous asymptomatic case or it's a bad test, but no one else in her immediate family or the AG's office has popped a positive prior to husband.

That is interesting because I have known several people like that. One upper teen girl lived in an apartment with her mom, sister and grandparents. Everyone but her became infected with the grandmother dying and the teen never developed symptoms or tested positive. Also know a 29 year old wife, school teacher and mother of two who was sick and no one else in the family became sick nor her extended family who she is extremely close with (sister and her family live next door, her mother baby sits her children). Have I misunderstood what you are saying?
