I should have been more clear. The beaches weren't bad actually. People spaced. I believe it's difficult to transmit it outside, spaced with intense UV. Grocery stores, etc - different story. Bad. I wore a N-95 in them. I'm all for opening up - trying to live my life too. First vacation/time off of 2020. Full disclosure - we were at Rosemary Beach. Believe central and south FL worse.

Marcus, I've really appreciated the insight from all of the doctors on this board over the past few months, but especially have found your frequent, front-line updates to be very interesting. I am glad you're getting some much deserved time off. Some of the attitudes on here are very disappointing and hope you can overlook them and enjoy yourself!

Marcus, we are set to go to almost the exact same place Friday (Seaside). Do you have any recommendations other than the N95 in the grocery stores? We are planning to not go to any restaurants and just go to the store once when we get there. Beach, condo is about it.

Instacart is available. That's what we did for 30a. In the watercolor Publix it's impossible to keep distance. Seaside is a bit of a mess. They have limited parking to try and keep crowds down in the store area but it's not working.

Lines still wrap around the block for a $20 grilled cheese and $10 shaved ice.

We ate at a couple of restaurants. We sat outside. Safer I believe. Publix was a free for all. Maybe 20% wearing masks. Checkout lines 8 back. I would wear a N-95 if you have one. Other than that we stayed to ourselves on beach. We didn't go to the pools. They were packed.

Will be there next week. Thinking about bringing groceries with us - Or did instacart deliver? Which restaurants weren't too crazy? Our landlord said case counts in Walton County-panhandle weren't too bad but could be so many there show up for a week then leave. Looking forward to blue-green waters!

Really appreciate Marcus' feedback. We are scheduled to arrive in Seagrove (next to Seaside) next Saturday. Wife has been teetering back and forth on the trip, and I have been watching the Walton County numbers on the FL Dept of Health website. Numbers are pretty low but same concerns, numbers are heavy on residents no idea how many visitors are taking it home with them. Long drive from Texas, will have to be extra cautious when stopping for the kids bathroom breaks.

We are not so much worried about being on the beach, more concerned about things like condo elevator, Publix, the road trip there and back with the required stops.

We are definitely planning on bringing more than normal food/supplies to limit the visit to Walmart/Publix and pretty much just doing beach and condo all week and not doing the usual shopping/restaurants.

Safe travel to all and I'll be the guy representing in the ol'sarge t shirt!

If you avoid going to the grocery on the turnover days (Saturdays generally), then you can miss a good chunk of the crowds. We did Instacart the first day and then went to the Publix on Sunday/Monday afternoon -- no lines to speak of.

We ate at Edwards and Wild Olives in RB. Plenty of outdoor seating spaced. Cowgirl Kitchen and La Crema were packed.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sounds like we all planned the same trip this year. We will be in One Seagrove.

Fitch those are excellent ideas and we will definitely do that. Marcus thanks for all your help and the restaurant suggestions.

When I was there we went to Surfing Deer and sat on the patio. It was maybe 4/5 stars but it did bring in a lot of the hots.

We tried Perfect Pig on someone else's recommendation and thought it was meh 3/5 at best.

Calisa Pool in Alys was our fancy dinner and it was fabulous. 5/5+

In non pandemic times we've done Roux30A and Cafe30A which are primarily indoor places. Cafe30A is pretty tired now, very 90s type food and not exciting for $100 a head.+ Roux is on the other extreme, tries super hard and most everything is great but there will be a miss (no menu most nights).

I was in Melbourne Beach, FL this weekend & it was glorious. Not packed by any means but this is not a big name area like Daytona (tourists) or New Smyrna (all of Orlando). 15 floors up kept us safe from the [lack of) crowds.

We really enjoyed The Red Bar in Grayton Beach, right next to Chiringo's. Not sure if it is still there as it has been 2 years, but great hole in the wall place.

Anyone try The Hub - we like the variety and hoping it's not too crazy crowded.

It burned down a year ago. Rebuilt and opening very soon.

We stayed just down the road and went in one night for ice cream / ice. Cool place and like you said, good variety.

Just FYI, it was pretty crowded.
