The Mrna treatments seem really awesome. I think most people remember movies like "I Am Legend" and have a little apprehension as medicine continues to develop into areas that make us nervous.
There are certainly applications of the technology that are a little more out there.

Could you use the tech to insert mRNA to reactivate/deactivate human genes? Turn telomerase on and basically turn back the clock on cellular aging? Or turn off some gene related to storing/burn fat triggering the fat cells to burn fat and ignore the signals to store it? Not sure how effective a shot in the arm would be at getting to enough cells.

Use as a vaccine seems a little less risky both in terms of health and ethics. But no doubt people will see how far they can push the technology eventually.

Reveille, what is your recommended amount of Vitamin D per day on a sustained basis (before symptoms). Thanks!

Anywhere from 2,000IU to 5,000IU per day. Lot of people take the 50,000IU once weekly pill. I think that is a good option also. Then get a level checked and try to get level above 55.

I take 5000iu daily. You recommend taking 50000iu if test positive. My question is, if positive and take 50000iu on Monday, would I still need to continue my 5000iu daily amount starting back the next day (Tuesday)??

Is a 5000 IU dose of vitamin D going to be too much if taken daily? I have read that a 4000 IU dose daily should be the maximum dose or you could risk kidney damage.

I bet it depends on the individual. I was taking 2,000IU/day and was only around 30 for my blood levels. Bumped it up to 4,000/IU and still not excessively high. Which is weird, because I get outside a pretty good amount.

It's a fat-soluble vitamin so taking it after a fatty meal will help absorption.

Is it possible to have a O2 reading of 98-99, even while the rona pnuemonia is going to town on your lungs?

Had a friend who took a 99 O2 reading, but felt funny. He had the rona about 2-months ago now, so was assumed to be recovered. Went to hospital and the rona-pneumonia was running rampant in there. Seems counter intuitive to a non-medical professional having perfect O2 numbers, with high pneumonia symptoms.

I need help understanding

Rev, thanks for all your info... have a question. I am mid 40's and overweight. Got back to taking vitamins regularly once this started. I take GNC Mega Men daily and drink Green Tea each evening.

GNC
Vitamin D = 40mcg (200%)
Zinc = 25mg (227%)

Are those quantities good enough? Or should I supplement them on top?
You still on the GNC Mega Men? I take the same thing. PCP checked vitamin D levels with last bloodwork, came out to 43 for reference.

So my 85 year old mother-in-law has recovered from a COVID infection in June. She was exposed on Nov 20 to a neighbor that tested positive for COVID today. On Nov 21-22, she was around other family members. As a COVID survivor, how much of a carrier can she be? Should the family members be concerned?

Reveille, just wanted to say thanks again. I am convinced that your cocktail helped me through CV19 with only minor symptoms.

Of course, my sweet bride deserves equal thanks for ensuring that I actually ingested the cocktail daily!

Great you tube with Dr Paul Marek on using Ivermectin in newly diagnosed patients.

Rev, are Dallas physicians using ivermectin?

Yes I have been using it. I wrote on it's use many months ago. I wasn't using it much at first but actually using it much more now with doxycycline as some recent data seems to be very promising.

Thanks for posting video I will have to watch this later tonight.

So are you recommending taking Bromelain for us health care workers? And if so, I though it only came in 500mg?

Curious what the suspected mode of action from bromelain would be and why they would have thought to add that in a trial? I thought it was for digestive and joint care?

Dr Coates:

I was listening to Dr Cory's testimony at the senate hearing re: ivermectin. This is the first time I heard of ivermectin. NIH guidance on ivermectin is to not use it outside of controlled trials. That guidance is from August. My first thought was, hmm, I wonder what Dr Coates thinks of this. I looked online and immediately found your notes.

So just wanted to say: Thank you! Thank you for all you are doing.

Sorry if this had been discussed- if we were exposed and are waiting on test results, is there any harm in taking the 50 000 IU now? Or should we actually wait until we have a positive result in hand?

I also wondered where the heck you get that kind of vitamin D dose - we'd have to take 20 gummies at one time!

As to why you wouldn't do it now - too much vitamin D could cause kidney stones.

Not a doctor, but am an old rancher and combat vet who has done stitches, field medicine, lots of sick kids, and halfway to being a veterinarian with all my livestock, .... a high dose usually would be split over time - like half morning, half night - that'd be 5 5,000 IU twice daily. Don't know if that's what Doc Rev would recommend or if it would reduce any the chance of kidney stone. Also, 50,000 shouldn't be a long term thing.

I know with my times that I've had vitamin D levels low (I take 2000 I U daily), my doc just has me do 10,000 I U once a week for a while.

Doc Rev, on another note, thanks so much for all you do and have done. Personally, I'm impressed and don't know how you keep moving through this with such professionalism when you've got so many thinking this is a hoax or no big deal, etc. - and even so many "educated" Aggies included in those deniers who post on other boards.

You can take it now. Vitamin D toxicity is rare. But the 50,000IU is a once a week dose not daily.

Yes it can potentially cause kidney stones if it is too high by causing increased calcium reabsorption. People taking 50,000IU should be doing so once per week and get level checked when you get labs at your doctor. I actually have many patients who are taking the 50,000IU weekly and levels are still on the low side of normal in low 30's. So I have them take it every 5 days instead of 7 or add a daily amount like 1,000IU.

I get my share of negative emails, but ultimately the goal of us in the medical profession is to do whatever we can to help as many people as possible. So don't let the naysayers get in the way of helping those that need and want help.

Clearly not my year. Taking excess C and D3 now apparently, led to me having my first kidney stone in 16 years. For anyone who has not had one, you don't want one, trust me.

Is there any guidance out there for where my D level should be maintained at and how quickly to get it there based on a history of stones?

Thanks in advance,

If you have a history of stones I would probably go on the lower end around 30 to 40, but this should be discussed with your urologist as there are many causes of kidney stones. I would get analysis of the stone. Remember the best prevention of kidney stones is drinking plenty of water.
