I heard Walmart is matching people's donations, but I despise Walmart and can't set foot in that joint.


Anyone recommend a good charity that I can have peace of mind in knowing that my money will be put to good use?

For the last week I have been somewhat involved in the Aerobridge mission with Harvey. The organization impresses me. It looks like there is minimal overhead as Key leadership and operations personnel have their own businesses and it does not appear they have much if any payroll.

They tell their story best. Their website is unusually difficult to copy and paste.

You might check them out on Charity Navigator or similar.

Like I said, pretty impressive scope and impact, leveraging volunteers and donors for maximum results.

Church. Aid goes out by volunteers or by staff who are already compensated.

Texas Baptist Men has NO overhead. their volunteers provide their own time, shelter, food, and water--while providing it for others they serve. Amazing group of people! They were our choice through which to donate.
