Flight was just cancelled flying back into IAH arriving at 5:30AM on Friday with United from Sao Paulo. I'm mainly just trying to get within driving distance to get home. Any of y'all that have had flights into Houston cancelled had luck with getting into SAT or AUS on United?

Just looking to get within spitting distance and I've got ways to get to Houston from there. Thanks

thirs coast has been trying to get back to his family. Believe he has only made it to San Fran.

I've been stuck in cancun for almost a week now. Southwest just cancelled the Friday flights as well. Yes the beach is great, but I'd like to get back to my friends and family. Thinking Austin is our best bet.

I'm trying everything right now through ORD, IAD, EWR, PTY, MIA, BOG, etc... This is hell.

had to reroute to dallas, here now. probably renting a car to get back to houston in the next day or so.

I would suggest Aeromexico to CDMX and from there you can catch a direct flight to either McAllen or Reynosa, and drive. S.A. too, but I have heard S.A. is tougher to get into right now.

My flight was cancelled as well. :-( I wonder realistically how soon we will be able to fly in/out? Is it going to be hard to find available seats once they do open it up again?

i imagine travel to the area and surrounding cities is going to be a serious cluster for a week or two.

at some point in the next week or so i am going to have to fly back from buenos aires as well. not sure how that is going to work just yet.

I had a united flight back to Houston cancel on Saturday for my flight Sunday I asked to be put on American to Dallas I was very lucky to get back to Texas on Sunday then I had a very sympathetic Enterprise employee book me one way the next day to College Station - where I live. I had to pick up car in Grapevine it was $137. Online booking says sold out you must call and be persistent. Bottom line ask to be put on another airline into Austin or DFW. I will try this coming Sunday to drive to IAH to get my car. Good Luck

Anyone flying into SAT needing a rental car, I just booked one for Friday-Tuesday for $10/day via the Southwest website. Not sure I can get to SAT yet, but I got a rental car at least.

Personal update:
Was able to get booked and confirmed to San Antonio. Arriving 9/1 at ~10:30PM. American Airlines just earned a new customer for my international travels. Rental car booked. Anyone in San Antonio, Gonzales, or along I-10 that wants to get stuff to friends, family, or donations to Houston, let me know and I'll try to meet up with you. I'll be stopping to grab some stuff in Gonzales around midnight before I head for Houston.

Those on United, you may try to get them to book you on American flights. If you're landing in SAT around that time and need a ride to Houston, I'm happy to have a navigator ride with me.

My flight home from Frankfurt is scheduled to get in at Saturday around 5:30pm. The Friday version of this flight is already canceled so I think I'll be sitting on the phone tomorrow w/ United to figure something out.

I may try to get Austin and have my parents come pick me up, then just crash with them until we can get back down to Houston.

Has anyone heard how the offsite parking lots are doing in terms of water? I'd hate to actually get back to IAH somehow and then not have a car

United will start landing on Friday I'm told. Wide-body jets have priority.

As for parking, depends. Some parking places took water, some didn't. The Parking Spot has updates for their lots on their website. I may not have a truck when I get back. I was in covered parking at The Parking Spot 2. If anyone knows how bad that place got, I'd appreciate an update.

Thanks for the update on United landing in to IAH...that is some positive news for my personal situation at least.

I'm at Fast Park and they sent a note saying that some vehicles were in high water, but with no details based on row numbers or anything, so I'm coming back to who knows what
