any sargent updates??
Went down yesterday to Live Oak Bend. Creek was at same level as last major flood, but expecting it to rise.
Bill Orton has been giving some good updates w/ pics on facebook. Search 'Sargent Beach Property Owners Association'

SARGENT/CEDAR LAKE
PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION
Please everyone keep in mind although the storm has past the flooding hasn't. Caney Creek and Cedar Lake will continue to rise so use extreme caution when traveling through high water. Several roads in Sargent are flooded at this time. The level of water will go up and down so don't think because it's lower at times were through. The bridge to the island will not open until the flood waters recede and current slows. There is still no electricity in some areas including Canal Drive. If you have a safe place to stay I would urge you to stay there and maybe coordinate with someone who may already be here to check your property. If for some reason you need to be rescued during the flooding we have the National Guard here with us to help contact myself or the Matagorda County Sheriff's Office. Keep in mind we do live in the country so as waters rise so will the snakes and other animals looking for higher ground.
I'll continue to update you till we're through this. Below is a list of roads that have flooding.
Caney Dr.
Creekside
Oak Circle
Seagull
Carancahua
Gulfview
Marina Dr.
Sargent Ranch Rd.
Stevens Rd.
You may feel like the water on some of these roads may not look very deep but keep in mind the damage can occur beneath the asphalt. Matagorda County will continue to have a curfew from 8PM to 6AM until further notice. We will continue to provide the area with additional law enforcement for the safety of you and your property.
God bless you all.
