- Kroger at Shepherd/ 11th was open for a little bit today (limited customers, line out the door) but closed around 5:30ish- not sure why.

- Water has gone down to where I think you can cross Shepherd/ Durham - at least to the other side. I-10 is still a lake.

Does anyone know about the Near Northside neighborhood across 45 from the Heights? Thank you.

I'm off 6th near Yale. Other than the cable being out we have made out ok. Real lucky.

You can go to drivetexas.org get updates. Don't know how much is real time or not, but it's a start.

Any update on the area around 34th and Shepherd? Everything underwater there or just sections?

I'm in brookesmith on the heights side of 45 from there. My brother lives in avenue place on that side, and I'm pretty sure we're all on the same bayou watershed - I've been watching location 560 on the Harris County flood warning system site pretty religiously/anxiously.
There have been 2 times (Sunday morning and late Sunday night) that the water got relatively high over here, enough to get up to a foot into some of the houses I've seen that are at/below street level in some of the lower areas. It got up to our front steps, but fortunately never higher than that, so far. It receded both times within a few anxious hours.
Today it has been raining steadily, but draining well. Most streets are totally passable, I was able to go pick up my sister in law in avenue place and get around a little bit this morning.

Lucky Food Store and Charles Beverage on White Oak were both open this afternoon.

Did not venture past 34 but was on shep earlier and clear with traffic coming southbound

Open today on my ride (so far): Red Dessert Dive, Antidote Coffee, Pho Binh, Onion Creek.

Kraftsmen bakery was open on 22nd this morning as well

Bakery Donut, Presido (looked like it'd about to open), Revolucion Coffee/Juice, Eight Row Flint, Lola, Heights EQ.

C&D is open again and Buchannans is open now.

Didn't make it to 19th or up Shepherd.

More 1st Ward but Target had a line and is letting people in.

Stantons is cash only

Chick fil a is drive thru only

So what's the best route downtown from the heights? Would like to get to GRB to volunteer and need to start figuring out work route for when the office opens again

Was just at GRB. I took 610 east to 59 south, exit Jackson. Area around GRB is a complete zoo. You may want to check with the Red Cross to see if they still need volunteers there or at another shelter before going - they were turning some away when I was there.

For the Heights area you can volunteer at St. Mark's Lutheran on Pecore and Holy Name Catholic south of Quitman
Both are accepting bedding, food etc donations, no clothes. I've been volunteering unloading and sorting supplies
