From the official Cajun Navy site Monday 5:00:
Clyde and the other team members and teams are all safe. Looters decided to pose as people needing rescue and they attempted to overtake the boats and there were shots fired at the boats. I repeat they are all safe. Looters must have not wanted our boats in the water for rescues. Please feel free to share this post. We are currently on stand down pending a new strategic plan.

Tuesday 11:00 Update from Jeff David Parish (the parish East of Calcasieu where Lake Charles is located)

The Tuesday morning update from the National Weather Service in Lake Charles is as follows. Harvey is still a weak tropical storm moving northeast towards the southwest Louisiana coast with a projected landfall late Wednesday morning in Cameron Parish continuing to bring heavy rain to Jefferson Davis Parish.

We are still anticipating this system to be more of a rain event than a wind event, but we may see gusts of 25-35 mph range throughout today and tomorrow. They are forecasting another 4-8 inches of rain between today and Friday for our area with a potential for higher rain totals depending on where the rain bands develop. Areas of Jefferson Davis Parish have already seen as much as 14 inches of rain from this storm system.

With several roads in the parish already impassable, additional rain will only add to the list of impassable roads.

There will continue to be a threat for isolated tornadoes today and tomorrow.

The following roads are currently reported as flooded/impassible or may be soon (Water may recede at times, but roads will be left on this list until the risk for flooding on that road has passed):

Latest update from the National Hurricane Center has landfall around 7 a.m. Wednesday near Cameron with the track then expected to take it over Lake Charles. No strengthening is expected and don't focus too much on the center, we need to watch the rainbands. Do note that wind gusts will increase to around 30-40mph and given the soggy soil, some trees could be uprooted. A Tropical Storm Watch has been extended to Grand Isle.

A large dry slot has wrapped into Harvey and is helping Louisiana tremendously. This is giving us breaks in the rainbands with even some sunshine at times. Now as the center gets closer to the coast tonight, I have a concern that the Lake Charles area could see a heavy band setup overhead. From Lafayette towards New Orleans, I'm feeling better that major flooding should be avoided. Just 24hrs left, we just need to make it to the finish line with as few impacts as possible.
