Plenty of homes taking water in King's Forest and Kingwood Lakes. We evacuated King's Forest this evening. House wasn't flooded yet. It didn't flood in '94 when the river hit 67.3', and we're expecting about 67' this time. The problem is that the local downfall is still being added to the Conroe releases. We'll see what happens overnight.

Is this about accurate? Did this crude drawing for non-Kingwoodians.

Flooding areas:

King's Forest (next to Kingwood HS, which is rumored to be taking on water)
Kingwood Lakes (South of Kingwood Drive from KHS and Kings Forest)
Barrington (south of KLakes)
Kingwood Green (Near King's Harbor and the YMCA - definitely underwater)
King's Crossing (Mostly east of West Lake Houston on either side of Kingwood Drive)
Foster's Mill (South of Kingwood Drive after King's Crossing)
Woodstream (The back of Kingwood, as far North and East as you can go)
Riverchase (The same, but just south of Woodstream)

Safe so far:
King's Point (As deep into Kingwood as you can get down Kingwood Drive)
Sand Creek (Just north of KW Dr from Foster's Mill)
Greentree (North of Foster's Creek)
Mills' Branch (North of North Park from Greentree)
Sherwood Trails and Elm Grove (Two areas north of North Park, West of West Lake Houston)
Hunter's Ridge (Where the star is, just south of North Park from Sherwood Trails and Elm Grove)
Bear's Branch (I don't really know where it stops and Hunter's Ridge begins, but within the little square of North Park, Woodland Hills, West Lake Houston and Kingwood Drive.)
Woodland Hills (West of Woodland Hills Dr, between North Park and Kingwood Dr.)
Trailwood Village (West of Woodland Hills, South of Kingwood Dr) - The south end of this may get flooding, not sure
Kingwood Place (West of Trailwood Village, not a lot of houses here.)
Forest Cove (South of Kingwood Drive, close to 59.) South end of this may get flooding. I'm not sure, haven't heard reports and don't know anyone other there.

If I screwed something up or need to update, let me know.

Lake Houston dam is a spillway dam and the water is already going over the spillway. So Lake Houston is releasing as much water as it can.

I read a statement on FB posted by a news channel that claimed that the Lake Conroe release was only a small part of the water coming into Lake Houston. Several creeks join up with the San Jacinto above the lake but below Lake Conroe dam. It's the waterflow from these flooded creeks causing Lake Houstons rise.

I don't know how bad it is, but I know my folks couldn't get into KP-Royal Shores around 5:30. Also, I think some homes on East side of High Valley are likely getting water.

San Jac at 59 just crossed 66 feet. 100-y flood is 63.8ft. 69' is 500y flood. Highest on record there is 66.7' in 1994.

Kingwood spillway is still at 50 feet as it has been for a couple days. Top of the Spillway dam is 41.7'

My parents called for a boat rescue to their house in royal shores. Water rising up in the front and back on them.

I'm in Riverchase. East Fork of the San Jacinto looks like it rose another 18 inches overnight. My house is on the top of the slope towards the river. Looks like several houses at the bottom of the hill have water in them. Hard to tell exactly how many because of the darkness.

My mom is in Kings Point in the Landing. No trouble there as of last night,

Uncles place along the golf course in Fosters Mill has 2 feet of water in it. Grandparents are getting rescued. In-laws in kings point are getting rescued. This is not good. Thankfully, everyone is safe so far.

Family of friends live on Elmwood Hill in Kings Point. Any update on that area?

Edit: I'm not from the area so I don't know the details of the neighborhoods.

I've been using this to see where water may come from if the river continues to rise.

If that holds up, my home is the last house in a culdesac near milks branch that appears to have water. Of course Harvey pays zero attention to 500-year flood maps.

GS - Thanks for all the pictures & updates. My brother-in-law flooded overnight in Deer Cove. We're assuming my sister-in-law's home in Woodstream is underwater. This is crazy....

Randalls on KW drive in the front of KW was closed yesterday and was planning on opening this morning - but that was before yesterday.

The walgreens at atascosita and will Clayton was opened and had snack foods left (milk, cheese, other basics gone as of yesterday afternoon). Adjacent to that, there was a liquor store open and I think a Chinese restaurant open. There were also 2 gas stations open at Wilson and atascosita road. I'm also looking for a grocery store too...

My parents live in Fosters Mill. I can't reach them now. Yesterday the water was in the yard but not yet in the house. I'm assuming now its in the house as the answering machine is not picking up, so power out.

Not sure where they are now.

For the record, that house did not flood in 1994 but the neighbor's houses did.

My brother lives in fosters mill fairly close to a kingwood drive. They do not have water on their street and no current signs of flooding. I'm off lake Houston parkway between kingwood drive and north park. My neighborhood is still draining and no signs of flooding yet. Hope that helps some of you with family here.

Hunan Garden next to the old HEB has been trying to stay open as much as possible. Same with Three B's. McDonalds and Chick Fil A have been trying to stay open as much as possible. We haven't eaten out the past few days, so am not real sure. I know Three B's owner said they would stay open as long as they had power.

HEB on KW and WLH flooded inside, so I would check with Randalls across the street old Kroger or new Kroger first.

Thanks GS. I'm closer to the old Kroger on north park and may try there since it's in the "right" direction.

His wife and daughters walked out through the water last night. He stayed with his son. They're fine, but last I heard they were waiting on a boat. I don't know if his wife has called anyone for a boat or if they're waiting to just see one in the area. They said there were quite a few just outside their entrance yesterday.

Unfortunately my parents live off a Lake Houston overflow ditch by the golf course. Back of Fosters Mill Ithe Estates section). I know Middle Falls was flooded yesterday in the area by them but not further up towards Kingwood Drive.

I would assume their community has a lot of support in place and I know their Ward on North Park is 100% dry. Kingwood Christian Church also has shelter and food ready and the city is picking up people at Creekwood Middle School and shuttling them to Lone Star Kingwood for shelter.
