With Lake Conroe opened up, the water our way will no doubt rise as we have already seen in Kingwood.

Checked Strawbridge's twitter as well but nothing there. We did receive an email yesterday stating church was cancelled due to it being a shelter, so it may be available if you're in the back.

Lake Houston Dam Spillway has reached the 100-year flood mark. Two feet from the 500y floodmark.

Thanks for helping us set records, Conroe.

Anyone in the Kingwood area know the status of Kings Point? We live near the elementary school, but we are in Dallas now.

Y'all should be ok by the school for now. Closest houses to the water along scenic shore currently have 3"-6" of water in them. By the school, you should be at least 3' higher above sea level.

My in laws are near Scenic Shore and are dry. I'd assume over by the elementary would be as well.

Thank you for the info! I hate not knowing what's happening, even though I couldn't do anything if I was there. I keep hearing that Kingwood is getting worse and now a priority rescue area. Hopefully the water level stops rising.

My inlaws are flooding, but they are lakeside along scenic shore. They said the neighbors across the street are still dry. So far only a small percentage of homes are flooding in kings point. I did hear that kingwood greens has a mandatory evacuation, but have not seen a verified source

I have a friend that lives at Kingwood DR and 59, she is new to Houston and just moved in this month; do I need to go get her?

That close to 59, she's probably in an apartment. If she's on the 2nd floor, she should be fine.

It is an apartment complex; I just asked she is first floor.

Google maps has her about 1 mile north of West Fork San Jacinto as it starts to open up at Lake Houston.

Anything North of Lowes on 59 in the Kingwood Area should be fine.

My parents are in Royal Shores and are close to flooding. Said nobody has come back there at all so far. Anybody know how that area and Kings Point in general are doing?

My in-laws are dry in Kings Point. I'd imagine that those having issues are closer to Lake Houston.

We are in Kings Manor at the front of KW. Off 494 between Kingwood Dr and Northpark.

The neighborhood Facebook page is in a tizzy because the apartment complex at the front entrance sent out an email to its residents saying they were going to be evacuated to prevent being water-locked (which we basically already are).

Without seeing anything official, I am thinking that either the apartments reached out to someone to get them evacuated for liability reasons or officials are wanting to evacuate the area to prevent people from being trapped with nowhere to go.

A lot of the residents in the rest of the neighborhood are talking about trying to get on 99 in the morning to see if they can get out of here.

99 has a ton of low points. You won't be able to get to 45 or Hardy on there. Best to stay hunkered down. North on 59 is flooded super bad at Cleveland. Obviously you can't cross the San Jac to the South. You are here for a while.

The closest flooding is about a mile south in Forest Cove near the San Jac and on Kingwood Dr east of Woodland Hills.

I did just drive around the neighborhood and everything is draining fine. I guess a fear is once he San Jac rises more, our drainage won't have anywhere to go...

The closest thing I saw to flooding was the ditches on the west side of 494 are full and overflowing into the side street down towards 59.

Also we have a huge drainage ditch bordering our side side and it is very low. It has 15-20 ft of room until the top of the bank.

Yeah, we would let someone else go first for sure. We know someone who got from Eagle Springs to Austin early this afternoon by going 59 to 99 to 290 but they said there were 3-4 low spots they had to go thru high water but made it in their SUV.

Still raining steadily but not very hard in Kingwood. No real news. Before her bedtime, my daughter still wanted to take her first day of school pic, even though school is canceled until next Tuesday.

Lone Star Kingwood is going to be a shelter for people flooded out. Transport will be available from Creekwood MS to LSK to get there from the back of KW.

Around 3:00 today a friend of mine in the Kingwood area took 99 to 1314 and went north and connected to 45. He's in Dallas now. I'm not sure what it will be like tomorrow but its a potential route for those on that side.

Anyone have any insight on the Kings Mill neighborhood off of Northpark?
Guitarsoup

Kings Mill should be fine. The main areas that will be affected are the back of Kingwood and south. Close to Lake Houston. Kings Mill is the farthest section from Lake Houston.
