Red Cross - Repairing Your Flooded Home

Advice from Reddit from Baton Rouge flooded resident

I also have a friend that did a lot of Ike litigation. He said to keep every receipt but also to keep track of your time that you cleaned your home. You can be reimbursed for both.

There are home inventory apps, these days, that allow you to attach pix. Always try to get pix of the serial number on anything with one,

Headed to Houston tomorrow to help my brother clean up and remove sheetrock. Once we have sheetrock removed and vacuum up what we can, do you spray the studs with bleach or some other mildew product? Let dry first and spray later? Dilute the bleach or full strength? Any advice is appreciated.

Don't use bleach. Use vinegar or apple cider vinegar.
