I think that is a collapsed culvert. They have been replacing a lot of them on that stretch of the bayou the last year. Not saying it isnt a sinkhole, but I know of several of those large culverts have collapsed recently.

I don't think there is a culvert at that spot.
I'm at Frank Black and there's almost no one here just a couple cars and one police car. I can't even see any lights on.
They just shut this shelter down, they are accepting donations just taking them to other shelters.

I drove through GO at about 11 this morning. Only standing water I saw was on Alba by the railroad tracks (near LHN). Everything west of Alba looked okay, and all the roads were passable.MAS444 said:

Weird afternoon. Sun came out and took the dog for a walk. Lots of people out and ran into friends. Seemingly normal afternoon beyond the constant helicopters and milt. aircraft overhead. At the same time twenty minutes west and my friends are loseing their homes.
Realtor got into my house and said all appeared well. No water in garage. No noticeable leaks or wind damage.
Sadly, his house (I think in Garden Oaks) appears to have had water in it, so he's dealing with that.
Have things stabilized in Cottage Grove? Do the bayous and reservoir releases impact us at all?

It's bitter/sweet. I'm thankful that the water barely even got over the curb here, but almost feel guilty seeing what happened to many of my friends over in the 079 area. 5-6ft of water in these $800k-$1mm homes.
And I know this is petty in the grand scheme of things, but is xfinity still out for others in the area? My bro said it's working over in galleria area but tv and wifi have been out here for two days now.

The last block of DuBarry closest to the bayou was hit hard.
Looks like most of the homes on TC Jester got hit... tones of trucks in the streets and hardwood/drywall piles in everyones yard
FYI - anyone looking for gas, the Exxon at 610/Ella had some when I went by during lunch.
