My understanding is that we are under a voluntary evacuation order. If you are leaving, you should be out by 7pm. They have recommended everyone at elevations of 109 or lower evacuate.

I'll try to find relevant links and maps and post asap.

If you have information on these subdivisions, please share. Let's try to keep it to info we can verify.

Any news on the neighborhood directly East of Addicks? I'm directly across beltway 8 by gessner from Addicks. Not sure if I should be alarmed of overflow our way or a possible failure.

If you're needing a place to stay, shoot me a PM. (We have dinner! and you are welcome to our guest room) We live across the beltway from the Adx dam at Haddington and the beltway.

Here is a good resource to see what your approximate elevation might be. Click on the "Open in Map Viewer" button and then zoom into your area. When you get close enough it will show you labeled contours and some single data point elevations.

See the map in the article below. Areas East of BW8 don't appear to be affected.

A d d icks drains to the south. Overflows would wrap around the dam and drain in the same direction, but with the controlled releases, that shouldn't happen.

What are the max values they're forecasting for each?

I thought I saw them suggesting if you were below 109 near Addicks you might get water. Just looking at the trend on the FWS site, I would guess it will crest closer to 107-108, but that assumes it stops raining soon. Still coming down right now.

Great link! It shows the height of the reservoir wall being 119. My neighborhood to the east across BLTWY 8 is 94'. So hopefully it doesn't get over that or have a failure.

Is it just a concrete wall that holds it in?

It's a huge "rolled earth" dam. Basically a really long mound. Kind of like a levy

The northern-most lake in LOEN is out of its banks.

Tanner, a you head east from Eldridge, is flooded... perhaps impassable, or soon will be

I think you may need a high water vehicle to leave LOE and Twin Lakes.

If you are in a neighborhood on the backside of A D D I C K S or Barker and care to find out your elevation, I was just informed of this website.

Look up an elevation by address

Lots of folks. Me included.

DUH - you mean rescuing? I'm not doing that.

Just FYI I ran into some folks who were evacuated by boat from the southern edge of the subdivision, up near the creek. At that time, this afternoon, they had not flooded. I haven't met anyone who has water in their house. Water is high although jacked-up pickup trucks have been able to get through.
