My plan is 21 to 6 att. I imagine ill get on the road at 0100ish. Should I be worried about being able to fill up on gas along the way? I think once I get South of downtown it will start to get a little dicey. Than you all for the information.

Fill up with gas before leaving College Station.

Someone posted somewhere already that gas is non-existent in Waller, and I'm guessing it is very spotty the closer you get to the city.

Might be a good idea to pick up a fuel can in Dallas if possible. I'd think a 24 hr walmart here or in Corsicana or something would have one.

i don't believe anything has happened. but there is a plant in crosby that was flooded and lost power. which knocked out their refrigeration capability which kept their chemical storage safe and under control. at the moment it was stable but without power there is a potential for something to happen.

Missed yesterday, but hopefully the last rain totals from the back of Kingwood. I usually dumped my gauge around 8-9pm and again at 6-7am.

Friday: 0.7 in
Saturday: 5.7 in
Sunday: 17 in
Monday: 5.9 in
Tuesday: 7.2 in

Barring a brief lull on Sunday, for an hour or so, it rained non stop till about 1pm here. Heavy, light, didn't stop.

Grand total: 36.5 inches

1) If you have not flooded yet, put pots and pans under the four legs of your table. If the water is only a few inches, the table will come through unscathed.

2) Anything in your house that's been thoroughly touched by flood water is compromised and has to go. There's no telling what was in the water and there's no amount of bleach that can make it safe enough to stay in your house.

3) Your mattress will float. Put stuff on it if you need too.

4) Triple check the measurements and quantities that the insurance adjuster has on you proof of loss.

5) On your home A/Cs:

If your outside unit (the Condenser) goes under, your insurance (hopefully you have it) is obliged to pay for replacement of it. It may still work although it's long-term usefulness is compromised. After the Condenser is completely no longer in flood water and you have electrical service, give it a try. If you can use it to dehumidify the interior of the house more quickly, do it. Set them to as low as they will go and let them eat.

6) Go through each room and take pictures, plenty of them.

7) Even if you don't flood, have your home sprayed for pests as soon as the waters recede. Bugs head for high ground just like the rest of us.

8) Don't forget to put tools up high with your valuables! You'll need them later.

9) Bring something to cut yourself out of the attic if you have to go there. Also try not to fall asleep in the attic.

10) Beware of the predators preying on your struggles. Everyone will come at you from cleaning crews to drywall contractors. Unless you are handicap or elderly, demo your house yourself. Those guys wanted to charge me $6000 for stuff I did myself. You're gonna need that 6000-9000 savings. Dehumidifiers will be hard to come by. You'll need one or two to pull all the moisture out of your house. Order them now online or be the first one in line when Home Depot or Lowes open. If you have to wait on shipments to come in, you're gonna be waiting a few weeks and it will be cheap junk. Bleach is not the best way to kill mold as it only treats the surface. Buy the good stuff made to kill mold, it soakes into the wood and lasts longer. That's all I used and I have not had one single problem.

The best advice I can give you is this. Everyday just do something. Eventually you'll see progress. It took us 8 months to get our 1500sq ft house back 100%. It's not a sprint, it's a marathon.

11) Don't go back home without a couple of dehumidifiers in tow.

I'm in Nottingham Forest 8 by St John Vianney, right on Hershey park/ buffalo bayou, just got water in house around noon today. Thought I was going to be ok, level has been holding pretty steady last few days but the last dam release really made level go up. I call BS on the HCFCD and ACOE for stating in press conference the bayou level wouldn't go up with dam releases. It increase 2-3' since they started and still rising. Was 4" inside when I left at 3 and still climbing. Oh well, least we moved everything upstairs and got out safe. Trying to stay positive.
yea we withstood all the rain in fleetwood but once they opened the dam my neighborhood was done for. every single house with 3 feet of water.

Unless other areas have had water recede...highway 6 is one of the few ways to get in to Friendswood from what I understand.

Clear Creek has blocked every road it crosses and I believe most of the beltway frontage road is, or was, under water at telephone, pearland parkway and Beamer (although I don't think you can exit Beamer due to construction closure).

Be safe since you're coming in at dark!

Highway six is blocked by water at University drive in Missouri City and it's essentially flooded from 288 to Alvin.

I would take 45 south to Madisonville.
Take 21 to BCS.
Take 6 down to hempstead to 290.
Take 290 to 99 north to 249 S to the beltway to 290 to 610 south to Almeda.
Take Almeda south to Reed or Airport over to 288.
Take 288 to the beltway to 35 South.

You are going to need more information on where you are going to in Friendswood but that should help.

Can't speak to the rest of your directions, but 288 & the BW feeder roads are a no go. Would probably be better taking 288 to County Road 59 exit, making the U Turn under the freeway and then heading east on 518 (288 feeder was flooded in some parts over there earlier today).

518 will take you straight to 35.

Fair enough. It was there I was starting to get a little iffy. I sent someone through that intersection going to pearland earlier and didn't hear back from him about the conditions at that intersection.

A lot of east pearland is flooded, but the water has supposedly gone down substantially today. 518 was flooded, so be sure to check that route!!

Google maps, drivetexas, and waze all show FM528 closed from Alvin to 518. I don't know for certain myself but all 3 are showing that.
