I know that the Euro had the best handle on it, but my memory is off in that I had thought it didn't reach a Texas coast solution until a little later. 8/18 GFS run was solidly in to Mexico (and it continued to lean further south than actual final landfall for a few days after that). Regardless, Jeff Masters mentioned in his blog today that typical error at 7-days is > 500 miles so I still stand by that it is worth watching but shouldn't be taken too seriously yet.

Yeah your general point is exactly correct. Long range should generally be taken with a grain of salt. King Euro is consistently the best of the bunch tho. It did very well on Franklin from 7 days out as well and it fascinates me that they can model these things anywhere close from so many days away.

By the way, I highly recommend SERVPRO.

They did our disaster cleanup back in 2012. Not cheap but if you have insurance they were high quality and extremely professional. I would file a claim as soon as you can.

We had 5 massive dehumidifiers in our house for 3 days along with like 30 high powered fans and that was just for an extreme hail storm that dumped a bunch of hail into the house.

Seems like it is possible, but will require a lot of jogging around to be west to get to western parts of town.

Possibly via 290 if you get over to the west before you hit the flooding.

I'm in Nottingham Forest 8 by St John Vianney, right on Hershey park/ buffalo bayou, just got water in house around noon today. Thought I was going to be ok, level has been holding pretty steady last few days but the last dam release really made level go up. I call BS on the HCFCD and ACOE for stating in press conference the bayou level wouldn't go up with dam releases. It increase 2-3' since they started and still rising. Was 4" inside when I left at 3 and still climbing. Oh well, least we moved everything upstairs and got out safe. Trying to stay positive.

I saw the aftermath were they were just looking at her.

Just wanted to provide you an update as per the press conference I just saw, they increased releases to 14,000cfs. That will cause the Bayou to go higher.

My dad just got to spring cypress and Eldridge with the boat. If anybody needs rescuing or knows somebody that does, let me know.
