Heavy rain starting again. Accuweather minutecast says about 80 minutes before we get a break.

I'm basically at Lexington and highway 6 in Sugar Land (voluntary evacuation area) and my complex has held up very well so far. No water entering on the first floor, and hasn't really gotten close so far. I have 4 other people and 2 dogs with me tonight...the ironic part was that I was intending to stay with them, but their subdivision flooded and water is likely going to get into their house.

Taking it day by day. Hopefully their neighborhood becomes accessible soon.

in the 1am CDT run, they're showing the storm is now moving at 5mph...I think it was just 3mph at the 10:45 run, so hopefully this thing is finally speeding up a bit

Were they in Grants Lake? Man that place used to flood alllllllll the time.

Any word on the Commonwealth Subdivision? Hopefully my parents are sleeping so I am hoping not to wake them as I have the last two nights from overseas.

I grew up around the First Colony area. Went to Dulles HS. I don't remember that area ever flooding when I was a kid. This is just stunning to me.

Still raining steadily but not very hard in Kingwood. No real news. Before her bedtime, my daughter still wanted to take her first day of school pic, even though school is canceled until next Tuesday.

Fire/ Jetch- I'm in LOE but have a good friend in Twin Lakes. He's on Amber Queen. Once I get an update from him, I'll post. In LOE, lots of street flooding east of the big creek and close to the Tanner road gate.

Nothing first-hand, but I did see on NextDoor that Commonwealth Boulevard was impassable (stalled cars) last night. No mention of water in homes that I saw.

The latest hydrologic map of the Brazos in Richmond looks a little better than it did earlier. The projected crest is still 59 feet, but is not projected to occur until Thursday afternoon/evening, and it is projected to start receding from the maximum sooner.

Trying to find silver linings anywhere about now.

My parents called for water rescue at 330 am today. Anybody in the Kingwood area have a boat?

I have a good friend a text this morning with your address. He is probably still asleep. There is another Ag in that area who will come by if you still need help. Call me at 512-633-3374 if you still need help.

Thank God. My parents already need a water rescue. Lake Conroe is raising Lake Houston.

Edit: that is re: the dams affecting Kingwood.

Assuming they have been rescued if they have not posted again. They may have also lost charge of battery on phone.

So the beltway feeders would serve as the channel for the water?

They think so, but it's never happened. I'm worried we might have a California situation.

In Silverlake myself here in Pearland. Been raining all day but no street flooding for us. My parents live on the other side of 288 in Southgate and their streets are flooded but no water in the house.

I live in Southgate as well. Water is 2/3 of the way to the house with the streets completely flooded. Only reason I was able to get back from Costco earlier was because my truck is slightly lifted. This is the highest its been in this neighborhood from what I understand. The retention pond behind the neighborhood is full, and last I walked around to the lake it was about 1-2 feet of it left to surface.

The next 24 hours is going to determine if we get water in the house or not. With the current models being shown it looks like this thing is hovering over the city. If I gotta leave it sucks but its just stuff and replaceable. Only problem is idk which route to get north of the city to head towards Dallas.

A friend of mine just made it to 1314 from 99 and is taking that to 45. For anyone else looking at that route it was clear about an hour ago. He lost power in Kingwood and with the other pics posted in this thread it was a good time to leave.

Lets keep sharing info and updates as we can - all I'm seeing on the news at the moment is sensationalized rescues, and while I appreciate the volunteers out there, that is doing nothing for informational purposes.

How does the area around Southfork look?
