Anybody have any idea when Meyerland/Westbury may get some relief from the constant rain?

No internet or tv means no information

Pct 5 Constables had a neighborhood meeting tonight. The Addicks and Barker Res. were a topic since about every 'hood around us is about to flood. Sucks to hear "You will flood tonight." Even though the weather system is starting to move off and rainfalls are dropping...the floodwaters are still moving. A total slow moving disaster.

The only other point he brought up is gasoline. There aren't many tankers bringing any in, and the refineries are all shut down. What does come in may be reserved for responders and recovery crews.

Landfall has shifted more to east in Port Arthur/Beaumont area Wednesday morning around 50 mph.

Good news for us on rainfall, not so much Golden Triangle or Lake Charles areas.

so that list of neighborhoods affected is very odd considering the map that was posted yesterday. I would have thought the southernmost hoods like Canyon Gate and Grand Lakes would be listed, but this is mostly northern hoods that are higher than some of the southern hoods not listed.

Both reservoirs are open to the north and west. That is where the flood spread will go. It will go east or south only if it goes beyond the edges in an uncontrolled release.

barker dam extends on a northern boundary from TX-6 to Barker Cypress does it not?

Using FB Counties map, Canyon Gate and Grand Lakes are included.

It helps to look at both to get a true perspective.

Especially LC. I have family all over that area.

Wasn't making light of impact of storm moving east to that area. I was born and raised in Port Arthur.

However I have one daughter already flooded out of their house and another son that was less than a foot away last night from joining her.

Ah I think you're right. GB park acts as overflow to the south I guess.

Just head a buddies rice dryers out in Eastgate took on water. Just lost his dad a week ago and now losing part of his crop.

What direction is it moving?

I wouldn't really call it much "movement" but it shrunk a little bit if that helps. It's still stagnant, but I don't see any red on the radar
