This may sound stupid and most people don't have to means to, but would a helicopter or a puddle jumper plane be possible? I have no idea if possible or what it would entail. Just trying to think of anything and throwing it out there.

Is Ellington used for anything anymore? Or is scholes a possibility? My nephew made it from galveston to Dickinson. Not sure how 45 to friendswood is.

Ellington is a joint reserve base. I'd guess that's where we have a lot of USCG and TXARNG helicopters based out of. I think there used to be a base up in the Conroe area, but they've consolidated at Ellington.

Anybody know how the Brazos levees are doing in Ft Bend county? My parents safely got out today and are staying in a hotel north of Austin. Still worried about their house but happy they are safe.

I just saw the Facebook post linked in the Sienna Plantation thread that explains the threats to the levee system after I posted my question. My parents don't live in Sienna but I imagine the same risks hold true for all the areas with mandatory evacuations.

It seems like we won't know for sure until the Brazos crests, which predicted to happen tomorrow afternoon, unless the system fails prior. I hope and pray the system can hold because the amount of lost homes in Ft Bend county would be awful to think about.

I just got back from a failed attempt to retrieve some friends in Eldridge lakes. There house is due to flood because of the Addics release. Tried to get there from BW8 /tanner road. We couldn't exit the Bw. The feeder and tanner both looked totally impassable. We continued N on bw to 290 trying to get home. I exited 290 at Tidwell and all the side streets had high water. We drove the wrong way back up feeder and got back on 290. We circled back all along 290 to 610, back out 10 to gessner. The bw, 290 and I-10 were all completely fine. It was totally surreal, we were the only (dumbass) on the high way. We saw a military vehicle convoy about 20 large trucks, no humvees going north on 610.

Tl/dr - friends in Eldridge lake are screwed, we got home ok.

So in theory someone could drive up the Beltway, up 290, and up 6 to get to CS as long as 290 and hwy 6 remain open?

99 northbound impassible at 529. 290 closed inbound spring cypress

290 has water on it somewhere around Fry.

I just went from Greenspoint on the beltway to 249 to the shelter at FBC Tomball then back to Grand Parkway to 290 all the way to Austin. Grand Parkway and 249 were getting dicey. I wouldn't recommend it after dark.

North to Dallas is no go right now. I45 is shut down to your north.

Maybe you can take 1960 all the way to 249 and then up to spring cypress.
