Does anyone have an explanation why KHOU has all their field reporters in residential neighborhoods and not out in more public areas?

Is anyone in the Heights hearing the occasional explosion? It's not thunder, if I still didn't have power I would guess that it is a transformer blowing.

I'm not in that area but I grew up in that area. I'm currently in the woodlands. From what I gather it's holding up alright.

Just out... this is bad, but needs to be spread....

Subject: Brazos River (Important)

If you are in any of the voluntary and mandatory evacuation areas in Fort Bend County.you need to leave immediately. There are pumping issues in Sienna Plantation and it is likely that some of the levees will be overtopped. Follow directions of local emergency officials

Does anyone have an update for the Williams Trace/Lexington Blvd section of Sugar Land (behind St Laurence in particular) My parents are there and are being too vague with me.

So I get wanting to cover the news but on ktrk they keep having to turn people away because there isn't enough room in the boat. They've made several trips and could have pulled 6-10 more people out by now but the camera crew and reporter is taking up space. Starting to annoy me.

The problem for the Sienna Plantation people is there is no where for them to go. They're hitting the road to evacuate only to find eveything closed.

Yup. And I'm afraid this will eventually happen with most of Sugar Land and Missouri city.

My in-laws are in the evacuation zone..... but there is no way for them to get out. Streets flooded leaving the subdivision. They are sheltering in place.

FtBendTxAg, you in a good area? We're off Mason/99 and my house backs up to oyster creek. That's been my primary concern as it's gotten too close for comfort once, but it receded a few feet over night in the lighter rain. Then the retention ponds for Waterside estates overflowed and sent water into our side of Long Meadow Farms which flooded my front yard with about 2ft of water and as deep as 4ft in places on the culdesac. Pretty crazy stuff.

Apparently, staff doesn't want us to talk about flood damage on a thread about the city of Houston flooding during a hurricane.

They have a second floor. Worst case scenario is that they hang out upstairs for a while. Not worried about more than a foot or two of water at this point.

Micro cell took some roofs in the Vieux Carre 'hood.

Under mandatory evacuator for concerns the Brazos is going to top the levees.

In-laws got the notice to evacuate Bay City late last night. They left at like 2am. Bay City is expecting 10+ ft of water surge once LCRA opens some of the levees on the Colorado River to alleviate flooding upriver (Columbus, etc). Water levels expected to completely cover their home.
