We were scheduled to fly out of HOU on Thursday night to Costa Rica and then onto to Peru, but that is looking less and less likely to happen. It sucks, but it pales in comparison to what other people are dealing with when we only lost a vacation, not a home.

Same here in Cypress east of 290. Solid rain for 2+ hours.

Mayor just mentioned that the northeast water plant at lake Houston is underwater. Said it could fail but won't know more for another couple hours. How much of Houston is dependent on this for water supply?

That's my concern too. Our streets are still draining but to where? Sooner or later every outflow point will be full.
@dlance, just watched the entire video you linked of the hummer. At the endx the neighborhood they pull into & turnaround to circle back, that's us.

Not looking good. Poster said neighborhood is rallying together already. Seems like it would take a miracle not to flood. Luckily my kids are here safe at the grandparents in BCS. It's all just stuff, but I hate to see them displaced. I'm expecting flooding. We'll get through it. I didn't have power for 2.5 weeks during Rita. Not putting my family through it but I'm heading back when I can to start working.

No one ever said that. From the very beginning this was forecast to hang around until late this week.
Pretty sure everything is closed. 99 is closed both directions in places. Places can't get their employees there safely and really don't have a reason to be open either way though. I wouldn't ask people to come in for that etc
