I'm calling my parents in a bit to let them know so they can gather some things and get out at first light before more rain and/or traffic. They live by commonwealth elementary school.
Good luck, stay safe to all who are getting on the roads if you are being evacuated.

Dog just woke me up to take him out. It's not raining but it's VERY windy in Tomball. Just checked and no tornado warning or watch though.

Water up to curb in Nottingham forest 8. Also just lost power. Im right on Bayou, water came up about 1-2' since release staying at same level last 2 hrs.
When thy release Barker at 11am, are the going to stop Addicks or both will flow?

We're in Spring and my dog is acting crazy too. She jumped on the bed to wake us up which she has never done. Tons of wind here too but no rain at the moment.

Very windy here in Cypress (Coles Crossing) too.

Have been waking up every hour to check water level, unfortunately still going up. I'm fairly sure unless it significantly drops before the rain comes back in a few hours, we will see water in the house, not looking too great.

Thankfully sunrise isn't far off

Victim of high water in Klein here. The creek is over two feet above its all time recorded high set in 1949. Waiting till sunrise to pack into the car that is on high ground. Very loud wind gusts periodically as well. But no rain since about 1:30. No reduction in water level.

Same, very windy in Copperfield area (Barker Cypress/Longenbaugh). Kindof eerie without any rain.

We're taking a beating here in Montgomery County. April 2016 has nothing on this storm. This is simply unreal to watch unfold in person.
Yep. Getting pounded right now. And just heard MoCoSO started knocking on doors along Rayford around 10PM asking people to pack a bag and leave because they're going to be under water by morning.

Dlance, do you know what neighborhoods off of Rayford are being asked to leave?

I left town on Friday to make sure I didn't get caught up in all of this. I have only lived in the Houston area a few years and what they were forecasting sounded scary enough to me at the time to leave. (My area nothing like what some of the other areas are experiencing I know)

Happy to be out, but can't help but worry about the house. Any info would be appreciated.

My heart is breaking for those who have been affected. Godspeed y'all.

Some reports saying the water released could keep homes under water for 2 months

Unless I am mistaken it is the homes above the dam that they are referring to with this. It will take up to 2 months to drain enough to get them dry again.

It'd be a nice gesture if Texags could make an exception for Add!cks around the profanity filters.

Ah, may have misheard. Is there any info as who what areas this might impact as water is released?

Jon and others in Coles - I am in the small sectiom between Telge and Huffmeister. Please let me know if there is any way that I can help. No boat and no big vehicle but I will do what I can to provide a hand getting there on foot. Help carry stuff, move furniture, clean up after, whatever is needed.

pcmoore21 at yahoo dot com if you need to reach me. I'll keep an eye on here but email will be best.

Relevant to Rayford talk. Spring Creek is officially the 2nd highest it's ever been in recorded history. Sitting at 108.3'. Projections were 112'. Anyone see an updated one?

Basically it will impact Buffalo bayou as that is what the reservoirs drain to. So anything in that bayou's flood plain can expect sustained or possibly elevated flooding. Last I saw though they weren't incredibly confident on exactly how much that the bayou would rise

It's sitting at a projected high of 113.2, that should be reached around 4pm today. That's the 5:45 am update. Predictions show the creek at or above 108 ft until about Wednesday afternoon.

Call 211 or 911 if life in danger. Give exact location, as much detail as possible with regards to number of people, ages and any airborne and water debris for both air and ground crews. Helicopter, high water vehicle and boat crews all up and getting ready. Helicopter crews should be launching in next hour or so. Bright clothing and movement.

I believe they said 6' was possible but that was based on other factors like rain. Hopefully since we've had a pretty good night in regards to rain the effects will be limited. Let's hope...

I'm in Thornwood and nothing new to report from here.

Just getting up and catching up, sorry to see all on here affected.

Any word on further addix backup since the release. Got folk over in Twin Lakes off Eldridge that seem a little less torqued this morning than late last night

Tried to leave I10 W this morning, traffic stopped at cane island, had to turn around a go back to Katy ft bend since it was the first exit without a flooded feeder.

I don't know if it was a wreck or water, transtar said it was clear.

From what I've seen it appears parts of Katy got up to 6" of rain last night, so the Addicks and Barker will continue to rise faster than they can move water out through the dams.

Buffalo Bayou at Dairy Ashford down 6" from when the reservoir releases started. That seems to be a good sign.
