Count me in as a doubter. I almost even posted about it being a bust but thought better of it since the forecast was so ****ing crazy that what if...it was right? This is the storm I worried about over the last 10 years. I was worried that the meteos would be the "boy crying wolf" and then one day....one day it would come to pass and it would be devasating for people because they blew it off. Only most folks didn't blow it off. Everyone was simply a victim of overwhelming biblical magnitude weather.

I'm still processing it. I have neighbors at the end of my road that are about 200 feet from the Brazos. It's low down there....real low...it's a ****ing flood plain. Everyone told them to leave. They didn't. I got the call tonight that they have decided they have to leave. Except...I can't help them now. My house is on a hill. It might be an island soon and I can't leave. There is a creek that's about 10' feet deep and now about 200 feet wide. I have no boat. And if I did, it's a 2 mile walk. They are old. Now, emergency vehicles are going to be called and we really don't know if those vehicles can make it or not now. But this morning it would have been a simple drive. Ugh....**** to figure out tomorrow morning.

HOW CAN THIS MUCH WATER FALL OUT OF THE DAMN SKY!?

We're taking a beating here in Montgomery County. April 2016 has nothing on this storm. This is simply unreal to watch unfold in person.

Brazos cresting at 59 ft is being described as an 800-year flood event, most levees only designed to withstand a 100 or 200 year flood event

In Coles Crossing (barker cyp north of 290) and getting heavy rains, friends in back of the neighborhood off telge about to take on water if they haven't already.

Starting to get sketch at our house, checking water every hour out front.

Having a 3 month old really makes this a scarier event

We're in coles. If you start taking in water, we have a 2 story that you can come to. We have a pack n play your baby could use.

I appreciate that greatly. Neighbor offered their upstairs as well. My parents (2 story) are just a 5min walk from us, not during flood.

Not only is it us and our 3 month old, we have 2 dogs, 1 of which is a 150lb Great Dane.....not everyone's ideal house guest haha

I'd probably walk down the hill to see if anyone wants help. Just don't put yourself in danger.

Where are the people under evac orders supossed to go? How do you even get out? Everything is flooded.
That's what I would like to know. I am ready to pack up and head up to Coryell county. I don't know where to get accurate info on road conditions and closures. I'm in the energy corridor and am ready to get out of dodge.

Is i10 open all the west to 36? Is 36 open all the way north?

Someone suggested the Texas dot site, is this the best source?

Combat- on Lidner's (Office of Emergency Management) press conference earlier in the evening, they are concerned more about the flooding emanating to the west portion of the a d d I c k s reservoir. I'm just south of you and I'm holding pat. I'm at 108+ feet. I've been checking the gauge at the reservoir and its rate of rise has slowed.

Questionable about what 36/I-10 looks like in Sealy.

I've been trying to get family to go 99 --> I-10 --> Austin/SA

If I was able to get on a freeway and successfully head north, my a$s will be gone asap. Problem is I don't know that I can....have to wait until day break to be able to tell

This is what scares me the most, what's going to happen when that all starts flowing somewhere......which way is it headed, 45 area? Cypress area? Etc

Still some confusion on reservoirs. My sister is in the neighborhood right in the northern wedge where Mason and Fry intersect near Cinco Ranch.

1. Will release from reservoir immediately help since she is just upstream?

Or

2. Is it filling up so fast it does not master at this point?

Also, I would echo the request for help on how she even gets out if she were to evacuate. She has a 5 year old and a 3 year old. Unfortunately, I'm in Dallas and my family all decided to ride it out despite repeated requests for them to leave on Thursday.

Late tonight. Not sure if exact time. Probably 11pm

It will still flood because of all the water running to the reservoir.

ETA: If she in the shaded/colored area that is the reservoir heights where it will flood.

Is there a similar map for Brazoria County? We are outside the evacuation zone, but not by a lot.

anyone else watching Channel 2? They literally just did a bit on a center that is taking in squirrels. People are losing their homes or wanting to know flood/tornado conditions and Channel 2 just spent time on people that are hand feeding f***ing squirrels!
People are ****ing insane about animals. It defies logic, there is nothing you can do to convince them. They put them on the same level as people and seem to have more empathy for animals than their fellow man. It is shameful the amount of money spent on animal rescues, no kill shelters, etc.

Could the latest bands exceeded their rainfall predictions and necessitated the earlier schedule to keep the reservoirs from failing?

I don't get it either. I love my dogs and I would be crushed if I lost them, but I wouldn't think twice to choose a person's life over them.

I'm in Sienna with my wife and two year old... I'm in the middle of Sienna and in the voluntary evac zone....
I want to leave but there is no way out based on all the road conditions maps I have seen. Anyone else down here have an evac route???

All my neighbors are staying.
