If they left themselves days ago great, otherwise staying in place is best for the city. The amount of deaths on highways from rising water and people driving the wrong way would be much worse than staying in a house with a little water. People can walk to neighbors. That isn't an option on the roads.
Emergency resources are already well beyond capacity. Putting people on the roads and causing panic is sheer stupidity. Let it go and stop bringing it up.

Thanks. Hoping for just a few hours of no rain today. Not sure if it'll recede much in that time, but if we have another four hours in the city like we did the last four hours, then I'm for sure gonna take on water.

The projections that are out on the local stations right now are allegedly 1/3 of the reality of the situation in an effort to curb widespread panic. He also told me that FEMA and the National Guard are already in NOLA in case there is a repeat of 2005, or something similar.
Harvey is supposed to arrive in Houston sometime late afternoon/evening on Friday. If this information looks to remain accurate over the next 36 hours, you might want to consider making arrangements to work from home on Friday.

I'm referring to days ago, as in Thursday. And nursing homes for example, not a mass exodus from the city. Shelters are set up all over Bell County. Likely empty due to stubbornness. This storm has played out just as it was predicted.
