I am currently in Austin while my wife is in Houston (Westbury). She says everything is fine and the street is draining, but I'm feeling like a real piece of **** for not being there with her right now.

Anyone know how the old katy area is holding up?

My grandparents live in an older (not raised) house on Mimosa, right near the mini culdesac near the end of the street. Are they going to be flooded in their house? They haven't heard from their neighbors on it, but we are assuming they are flooded since they are not raised.

The heaviest rainband has shifted east of Houston. However, additional rainbands are likely to rotate into Houston later this morning. More than 10 inches of additional rainfall is possible today. The rains will likely not end until Thursday, More than 25 inches of additional rainfall could occur through Wednesday. Some areas could see more than 40 inches of additional rainfall.

We have not made any significant change to the forecast in this advisory. Harvey is forecast to track back out over the Gulf of Mexico on Monday then track northeastward and inland near eastern Matagorda Bay on Tuesday night.

I'm at Hillcroft/Cheena, which is 5 blocks South of your grandparents and 10 blocks South of Brays Bayou. We have street flooding and water covering the sidewalks, but nothing in the house at this time. We've contacted a few people that are closer to the bayou and most of them have at least a couple inches of water in their house. Someone who was posting on this thread last night lived on Hillcroft/Rutherglenn, but I haven't seen anything from him recently.

My aunt lives in Denver Harbor (near 5th ward) and her house is flooded to her knees. She has no power. One of her dogs is missing. I'm extremely worried for her. My parents are in Sugar Land but so far they have no house flooding. Their house has never flooded in the 25 years they've lived there so fingers crossed. This is a nightmare.

Water was over the curb and sidewalk, halfway up the driveway. Receding now. Very lucky so far.

no water in their house. Seems to be receding some.

Water is creeping up to the houses in the front of the neighborhood.

We're starting to move everything upstairs.

Comcast seems to be out in my hood (north montrose a few blocks up from bayou). Got the rabbit ears out. Y'all stay safe. Somewhat lull in rain at moment here. Power has flickered a few times. But still on. Bayou is the highest I have seen it.
