Apparently tropical systems produce a significantly more rainfall at night because their cores are so warm, the difference between the core and the ambient air becomes increased which means more condensation. During the day the difference isn't so bad and things settle down a bit.
Hopefully tomorrow things slow down enough during the day to catch up a bit before tomorrow night. But I don't know if we can handle this again even if it doesn't rain at all tomorrow.
