I found out last night. some of you have probably drank a lone star light with him out under the beer tree. when the national anthem would start, that was his signal to get into Olsen - they said that when another tailgater got the call about Bob, he was at a ball game and the national anthem had just begun.
random stuff about him:
I met him at the baseball games back in 1994. from that day forward he never forgot my name nor my beer of choice. i'd often run into Les and him at the Chicken and drink a few beers, throw some bones, and talk the afternoon away.
his wife passed away several years back, so bob's family decided it was best to move him away from CS, closer to them so they could take care of him. in his words, he was "kidnapped". thankfully, they moved him back home and he enjoyed another couple seasons of baseball.
at one point his heart stopped during surgery and he said he remembers dying and how glad he was to be with his wife again, but he was told he had to go back and live again. that was about 3 years before his death - but i am glad that now he is back with his wife.
anyways, i am so glad i had the chance to be his friend. he will be missed.
