The boys looked excellent on the mound tonight. Kyle was completely hosed in that 3rd inning (thankfully only 1 run was earned).

Ueckert looked good and Hering was nuts striking out the side on 10 pitches.

Yeah you certainly can't blame Kyle on that inning. The freak play in RF, the single just on the other side of the SS, the dropped ball strikeout single...

and the 1st & 3rd steal shouldn't have resulted in a run either

The one thing about Kyle as a starter, particularly on Friday, is that he tends to throw go deep on counts to many batters, and thus reaches his pitch limit sooner than you would like. He came out after 5.1 because he'd already thrown 104 pitches. He needs to address that if he wants to hold down the Friday spot long-term.

That is true, however to Kyle's defense I had him at 32 pitches in the third inning alone and that really shouldn't have been anywhere close to that had not been for the sloppy play in the field....

I kind of panicked while all of that was going on. But the bottom of the inning was GREAT!

I counted at least 6 misplays on defense in that 3rd inning. Good to see the Ags come right back in the bottom of the 3rd.
