For long-suffering Texas Rangers' fans, it looks like the franchise FINALLY has a legit, top shelf, bad ars starting pitching prospect for the first time in franchise history. I wathced with interest last night on a rare AA television broadcast as Vasquez completely dominated Corpus Christi. This was his third start and the comparison to Pedro is not that far off. This kid has awesome talent.

with Vasquez, Danks, Diamond, Wilson, and Rodriguez, the future looks great.

I would say Kevin Brown was a legit, top shelf, starting picthing prospect for the Rangers at one time.

That said, that one time was a long time ago!

I realized after posting that I butchered his name. I agree about Brown. He's had a very good career, and I considered him when I made my post. However, I guess my definition of topshelf is someone like Pedro or Clemens. Brown is a step below those guys. The good thing about Edison is that he has an excellent change right now. Brown, for some reason, has never developed one. Here's a nice scouting report on Edison.
