That's what happens when you reach the College World Series repeatedly, win a National Championship, and finish runner-up, all in the past few years.

it's going to suck when they lose 2 out of 3 to nebraska. then texas will be exposed to the nation as an overrated team.

we kind of talked about this last week

It's going to be great for college baseball and I can't wait for it to kick off next weekend....

I also talked about it a few times at my site:

You'd think ESPN would do a little research and see Olsen is one of the better gameday atmosphere's in the country. We should of least get a home game televised?

I think the schedule has a misprint for May 10. The article shows Texas at Kansas on that Tuesday, but that is after showing all three games of the Texas/Kansas weekend series being scheduled. So, I think the May 10 game against UH will be on TV.

actually I was thinking the other way around...the horns will expose Nebraska as a fraud. The huskers have played mostly cupcakes and tomato cans so far this year.

You're correct twk....Everywhere else I've read it we were the ones playing that night

I think the Nebraska v. tu series will be a good one....Nebraska is at home and Alex Gordon is RED HOT....I suppose we'll have to watch and see

of course, ut is always a fraud. i mean just look at the last 2 years in omaha. overrated too.

ut is overrated if they don't win the NC. well, at least they don't lose to cougar high in their own regional.

I think ESPN is just using schools like Texas to test the waters. People who have seen the CWS on ESPN in recent years have seen a lot of Texas baseball, so showing teams that have had that kind of exposure will do more to bring in viewers for the sport as a whole. Next year, you will see a much more balanced schedule if this is successful, which I think it will be.

Next year, unfortunately, we'll see a much shorter schedule (or an almost exclusively ESPNU schedule) if the NHL is playing.

Yeah, but at least it'll be on TV, and baseball will probably dominate the college sports channels because basketball will mostly be televised on "free" TV.

Notice that there are no ESPN games at any SEC schools. I believe there was an article on the Baseball America page that said the SEC wanted some sort of fee from ESPN to show games. The SEC's loss is the Big XII's gain.

Another reason ESPN may be showing UT a lot is because of ease of travel to and from Austin. While I think the exposure is great, you have to figure that ESPN will be doing this on as tight of a budget as possible. Therefore they figure getting to places like Austin is much easier than getting to some place like Stillwater or Manhattan.

I also feel that UT will expose NU as a fraud this year long before NU will expose UT. The Huskers have played one of the weakest schedules in the nation (#211 out of 284 possible teams). I know NU has two wins over Rice and one over USC, but neither of those teams is as powerful as they have been in the recent past. NU has made a living this year beating the snot out of North Dakota State, Western Illinois and Hawaii-Hilo.

Yeah. The first two games are ESPNU and the Sunday game will be on ESPN. Honestly, I have no frigging clue as to why they would want to go to Lawrence, Kansas for a baseball game. Who wants to go see games where Texas fans will possibly outdraw KU fans?

I hope so. Nebraska has some solid pitching, but their hitting outside of Gordon is suspect. Joba Chamberlain got hit pretty hard against KU last week, so I'm interested to see how he does this week and next week against Texas.
