ok...this really has to be the last time we put hill at second. and carpenter just isnt ready to play 3rd. i really dont like bartek at leadoff,...but oh well. and now with baldwin ripping the crap out of the ball,..where do you place pouk.

so, here we go

1. bartek
2. dalton 2nd
3. pennington
4. Baldwin
5. hill DH
6. pouk
7. mav
8. infante
9. boggs 3rd...and he better stay there for the remainder of the season

that lineup really looks damn good. like i said,..the bats will start to turn around. infante is at least hitting the ball better, we have a new stick in the lineup,..baldwin and once boggs gets it together, our lineup will be that much stronger. WOW...that last paragraph has to be a run-on.

1-0...so far...26 games left...on target to go 21-5......

and i still like ray to come out of the pen to shut the door, depending on what chambless does.

anything else,..fire away

It concerns me that we are halfway through the season, and a couple of series into league play and we have no lineup at all other than Meyer as the Friday starter...

Well, half the time MJ has his line-up picked by now and people don't like the fact that he's not trying different people, so...

Boggs sucks. BAD.

Here's my lineup for Friday:

Bartek
Mavroulis
Pennington
Baldwin
Pouk
Hill
Dalton
Infante
Carpenter

Mav has better on-base numbers, stolen bases, and a left-handed stick, than Parker. If Bartek's average stays around .200, then Parker might go to the leadoff spot. Would give Carpenter a chance this weekend to see if he can hit. Cannot hold too many spots in the lineup for great defense, but no offense. Might give Stein a shot at DH for one weekend game too.

that .331-5-52 last year really sucked.

He needs to be hitting in these tuesday games to work out of this slump.

i think carpenter will most likely not see anymore playing time.

he has had his chances. and johnson mentioned putting hill at third. let's hope he is just bluffing. he really cant be serious with that move. boggs is the man at third. and i still feel that he will turn it around.

i think we are on a good progress,...i think everything will come together at the right time and this team will make a run.

Baldwin is on a tear recently, but last year he wasn't really consistent...maybe we should wait before we fall all over ourselves calling him our batting answer. That being said, he is doing better, and without him last night would not have been a W

agmarauder,

we have to put a stick behind pennington so that one of two things happens. 1) they actually pitch to pennington or 2) someone punishes them for walking him.

there are a couple of lineups id like to see.

First, like W Id like to see Mav in the 2 hole.

Bartek
Mavroulis
Pennington
Baldwin
Pouk
Hill
Infante
Boggs/Carpenter (both are struggling so I try boggs)
Dalton

or

Bartek
Hill
Pennington
Baldwin
Pouk
Mavroulis
Infante
Boggs/Carpenter
Dalton

Something else I wouldnt mind is seeing hill get some time at 2b or 3b with dalton at the other. Then you could DH Stein or Sebek depending on lefty/Righty matchups. We HAVE to generate offense. If that means give up some defense then thats what you gotta do.

Hill isn't a two guy, plain and simple. He's struggled of late, hence why I'd move him a bit down in the order and get him some fastballs to hit.

I don't think anyone claimed Baldwin was the long-term answer - yet he may be - but you may as well put him behind Pennington for protection in the order while you can.

Baldwin isn't going to hit .625 the rest of the way - in fact I'd gladly take .300 - but he's one of the few guys who have hit consistently in our recent swoon and needs to be rewarded/allowed to reward the team for it (by moving up).

you cant plug a guy into the #4 hole just bc he is hot....baseball doesnt work that way...keep him in the lineup, but keep the batting order relatively the same throughout the season
AB2

He hit 5 last night - and I'd prefer someone be on base in front of him.

Plus, KU will do their homework and know he is hot - him behind Pennington will get one of them something to see.

Quit thinking of the #4 role as the "traditional clean-up spot." This team isn't built that way.

Not sure if you noticed but this lineup hasn't been exactly tearing the cover off the ball. So I say mess with the lineup all you want until we get some consistency out of our players (excluding Penny).
CoMart06

aye, mess with the lineup, but keep the guys who are good in the field, in the field (ie, Penny at SS, Dalton at 2nd, and Mav at 1st). Ryan Hill needs to stay off the field and in the DH position. Does anyone have a clue what MJ was thinkin bout havin Cliff be the DH last night? i mean, what was MJ smokin...crazy.

"He's a Fightin' Texas Aggie and he just don't give a damn, that he's got 12 parking tickets and he's on sco-pro again. But the bonfire's building and varsity's horns been sawed right off his head, ya he's a Fightin' Texas Aggie and he will be til he's dead"
Goose06

my reason for moving hill down to the 2 hole is to basically surround pennington with our next 2 best hitters to give him as much protection as possible. i highly doubt we would ever see this approach by MJ but if our offense remains stagnant, he may have to try something like this.

using Penny as a DH last night wasn't completely ludacris....Tuesdays are the days to do that kind of stuff. We got to see that Dalton could handle SS and we got some more innings out of Hill at 2B while at the same time giving Carpenter some more ABs. Tinkering will continue until we get consistency

Are you really mad about DHing Pennington? It was a way to give him a night off in the field while still keeping him at the plate.
