For those of you still saying, "It's just one game. It's not the end of the world," it's not just one game. This type of play has been occurring most of this season.

I should bring this thread to the top when we are playing in Omaha!

This is the season we find out why Coach Fran is widely considered a better gameday coach than Bob Stoops and a better recruiter than Mack Brown.

When The "DUCK" soon flies high soar vastly above all mankind with his finacial genius, we will all have a hugh contribution to make to the SISTER in support of her good works.

Et tu Jack Daniels?

Get out early Monday and save yourself! Remember that when the cow gives up buttermilk and azzholes fly tomato seeds will be the currancy standard for all society. Left Face, Harch!

That is a classic post. Maybe the best of all time.

Panic implies that you take some kind of rash action. We are what we are, which is a very pedestrian offensive club with good pitching and very good defense. Nothing is likely to change that. MJ shook up the lineup somewhat, but you can try every conceivable move and you're not going to turn this into a good offensive club. Decent, maybe, but good is not going to happen.

We must sweep KU at home next weekend, or we'll have to start worrying about making the NCAA tournament (and possibly, worry about making the conference tournament). You can forget about the conference race, but that's not the end of the season. Get some kind of steady (if unimpressive) offense going and this team will be dangerous in the post-season.

What I don't understand is WHY we're such a poor hitting club. We returned six guys from the starting lineup last season and we're hitting worse than last season. There's no reason we should regress at all. I'll go find some stats.

Its A&M, where JUCO's go to die. We never improve our hitters.

Look at who didn't return, and that should tell you. It didn't take a genius to figure out that this team was not going to be an offensive powerhouse--we simply are lacking in big bats. I want to stick around, so we won't get into the blame game as to why that is the case. But, if you think that there is any coach in America who could turn this into a better than average offensive club, I'd have to disagree. It's simply a talent problem.

04, you have hit on the thing that I don't understand either.

what has happened to the veteran players? They are hitting 100 to 150 points below last year's average.

Parker has become a disappointment and Hill is finding out what Division I baseball is. Neither one can hit in the clutch in conference play.

If we used wood bats it would like a TV seris-Deadwood. I guess we are the ALCOAless Aggies.

W: Boggs and Baldwin, in particular, slumped at the end of last year. Boggs didn't hit much better in conference play last year than he is hitting right now. Take out a couple of key hitters, and it's no surprise that we are not as good an offensive ballclub as last year.

yeah, I know.

This season is resembling 2001 & 2002 so much now. Great non-conference start and then the swoon once conference play starts.

Unbelievable 4 games with 2 runs or less scored.

Where have all those 10 runs or more games gone?

10-2 vs. Tennessee - UT had 6 Es & 4 BBs
10-2 vs. Jacksonville - They had 3 Es & 4 BBs
12-2 vs. Wake Forest - WF had 3 Es & 5 BBs
10-4 vs. Washington - They had 8 BBs
10-2 vs. Evansville - They had 2 Es & 4 BBs
13-5 vs. Notre Dame - ND had 2 Es & 6 BBs
12-2 vs. Texas St - SWT had 4 Es & 6 BBs
15-5 vs. UCLA - UCLA had 3 Es & 8 BBs

A big reason for some of these wins was the help that we were getting from our opponents.

This is small ball at it's worst. MJ has never been a good small ball coach. He is more comfortable with teams that have some pop in the lineup.

Sad thing is, we had some good pitching this series. Really only the 1 bad inning, and even that wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Oh, and there is no way this team goes to Omaha. You have to be able to hit and score runs against good pitching. We haven't been able to hit moderately good pitching yet.

04 - those 10-run numbers are very sobering
texasaggie04
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Then 10 run numbers are sobering... but I will also admit that most of those runs were earned. We were given a lot of help but we did work for a lot of those runs too.

I'm still going to hold on and hope that we start to hit. Mainly because (a) baseball will always be better than studying and (b) I'm certainly not going to help anything by complaining.

TexAgs learn from your mistake would be a good start. To tell some to walk away from the computer is not you business. To stop posting but order away, above your authority to do. you have taken a free enterprise to police which people have paid.
