Im really suprised with Baylors record...after watching them at Minute Maide, I figured them to fare a little better than they have

When did Colorado and ISU dissolve their teams?

Baylor has a very tough OOCS, but then again so do the Ags. I'm also somewhat surprised by their record after their 3-0 start at MM.

Not sure about CU since they did not have baseball when the Big XII was formed. ISU dropped baeball after '01 season.

if you are being serious..Iowa State did just a few years ago..
dont know when CU did..but they have not had a baseball team since at least the start of Big 12 play in 96-97

Colorado hasn't had a baseball team since 1980.

Baylor (8-6) has played a little tougher schedule than the Ags, but not by much.

Their series with Long Beach was in Waco and they should have won 2 of 3, but didn't. Bears have played 7 home games and are only 3-4

Whoa - I didn't realize that the Bears and the horns open conference play against each other!

wow baylor is dead last in in the big 12 in every mens sport.

Baylor will not end up in last place in the Big XII this year...not even close.

Do any of y'all remember when ISU still had a team? I think that their last year was my freshman year (2000-2001). I wasn't at the game when we played them at Olsen, but I think I remember someone telling me they had an outfielder with one arm. He had a nub or something. Is this just complete crap that someone fed me, or did this really happen. It can be done. My dad played high school ball in Missouri against a one armed short stop. My dad said he was probably the best athlete he ever saw. The guy was also an all state running back.

I remember them. I do not remember a one armed Cyclone though.

What I do remember is a baseball field that was akin to some little league fields in West Texas. It was terrible....bordering on dangerous. Pretty embarrassing for an Ag school.

I don't remember any one armed players. What I do remember was that was the only ISU team to make the Big XII tourney, which became sort of a wake for ISU baseball. Everyone was pulling for ISU when they played Baylor in an elimination game, and pulled it out with a 2 run bottom of the ninth, the final runs scoring on a two out error by the Baylor shortstop. Of course, the fact that one of the ISU girlfriends in attendance was a hot (and very ****ty dressed) blonde might have had something to do with it.

I can understand hitting w/ one arm, maybe...

But how the hell do you catch and throw?

Pedro, see Jim Abbott, pitched for the Anaheim Angels in the early '90s. Dude had one arm and a half of an arm. he put his glove on his good arm after he pitched.

Abbott threw a no-hitter for the Yankees in either '92 or '93. He was an absolute stud at Michigan before going pro.

Saw Abbott throw against the Horns in Austin. He was amazing.

The St. Louis Browns (now the Baltimore Orioles) had a one armed outfielder named Pete Gray in 1945. Manpower was very short at durning WWII and teams were often filled out teams with aging players, guys in their teens (Joe Nuxhall pitched in a game at age 15 in 1944), or in this case a guy with one arm. Gray played in 77 games for the Browns and hit .218.

Point of clarification: I'm not saying the tech baseball team sucks. I'm saying that tech as a whole sucks.
