Did they even go home? My understanding is Little League International takes over after the championship game and takes them straight to Williamsport. Either way, it would be difficult to play the game.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

You're not wrong. But from my understanding most Little Leagues have rules where kids have to play more that just one season to be eligible for All Stars in order to prevent kids from just jumping in for that 12-year old season.

And every single All Star team is made up of those select ball kids.

I wish my boys could have played LL and tried to make a run at the LLWS but there's not even a sanctioned LL we live close enough to in order to be within their boundaries.

LL & Select are not the same game. Select ball, back when I was coaching, was open bases starting at 9. So to play LL was a step back. It's also why our local league in West Houston started offering a tourney team league to run beside the regular league teams.

My team went to Cooperstown at age 12, drove there from Houston. A great experience, we got an hour w/Biggio the year he was inducted.

You drive by Williamsport to get there.

But you do have select kids playing LL. At least they do for their 12-year old season. Every single kid on every US team that's made the LLWS for 15+ years plays select too. They just play the bare minimum in LL to make All Stars and make a run at Williamsport.

Like the team from Needville a couple years ago had 8 or so kids who played for the same select team. Go look at the rosters and they'll all have PG profiles or they'll play in some other select sanctioning org.
