I think in today's age with all the hyper specialized training, and how important offseason workouts are for both football and baseball development it's going to take a truly special player that can successfully pull off both.
Just look at Jonah Williams at Texas. 5 star DB and was a big baseball prospect. He was pretty good last baseball season but doesn't hit for power the way you would think someone with his frame should. I'm guessing the lack of offseason work exacerbates that.
He also keeps getting hurt in both football and baseball, further stunting his development in both. Usually a 5 star DB will see meaningful playing time by their 2nd season but I don't even think he's factoring into the equation for this year due to all his health issues. Realistically he should probably just choose which sport he wants to continue playing because though 1.5 years it hasn't worked.
